Dr. Steve Hardy (John Beradino). General Hospital’s chief of staff has been on the job for all of the show’s eighteen years. Dr. Hardy is the calm eye at the center of all the secret storms, but he is not perfect; among other things, he fathered an illegitimate child.

D. Alan Quartemaine (Stuart Damon). The son of the richest man in Port Charles, Alan is a tender man with an explosive temper. When he found out that his wife was having an affair, he tried to kill both her and her lover–twice. That didn’t stop him from having an affair of his own with a woman who runs a disco.

Dr. Monica Quartemaine (Leslie Charleson). The beautiful and unscrupulous wife of Alan is a surgeon whose tongue cuts as deeply as her scalpel. She once claimed that the father of her baby boy was her lover, Dr. Rick Webber.

Dr. Rick Webber (Chris Robinson). A straight arro w with a soft heart, Rick loves his wife’s illegitimate daughter, Laura Baldwin, as his own. But his dalliance with Monica ruined his marriage.

Dr. Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander). Lesley is so devoted to her illegitimate daughter, Laura, that she took the rap when the girl was accused of murder. She has been seeing other men since she kicked Rick out of the house, but a reconciliation may be in store.

Heather Webber (Robin Mattson). The guileful wife of Dr. Hardy’s illegitimate son, she turned catatonic after accidently taking LSD. Recently released from a mental hospital, Heather is a suspect in the murder of Diana Taylor, a nurse she caught in bed with her husband.

Joe Kelly (Doug Sheehan). A quickwitted private eye, Joe set out to prove Heather guilty of Diana’s murder. Unfortunately, he fell in love with her.

Bobbie Spencer(Jacklyn Zeman). Luke’s bubbly sister used to turn tricks; now she’s a dedicated nurse trying to live down her past. Her bad luck in love–she lost one man to Laura, another got killed by the mob–has taken a turn for the better since Dr. Noah Drake appeared.

Dr. Noah Drake (Rick Springfield). General Hospital’s handsome new arrival is raising blood pressures all over the nurses’ station. A wealthy and good-natured playboy, Noah is showing more than a passing interest in Bobbie Spencer.

Amy Vining (Shell Kepler). The staff’s resident busybody, Amy makes it her business to mind everyone else’s. When she’s not stirring up trouble, she keeps her dizzy eyes focused on Noah Drake.

Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). A wisecracking agent for an international spy organization, Scorpio is working with Luke and Laura to stop a mad scientist from freezing Port Charles.

Tiffany Hill (Sharon Wyatt). A B-movie sex kitten, Tiffany was the plaything of the mad scientist’s brother until she decided to help Scorpio save the world. Now Tiffany and Scorpio are trading meaningful glances. This may be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
