Generation Zero’s new update is called Landfall and is available now. The Landfall update received a trailer yesterday that shows the new robotic enemies players will face off against in the game. However, the trailer also shows that the new machines are attacking FNIX machines, not just the player characters.

Along with the trailer’s release, the patch notes for the Landfall update were also released and provide details on Generation Zero’s new content. According to the post, the new machine enemies called the “Wolf” and “Lynx” were sent by the game’s Soviet faction. The Wolf is a four-legged machine that transports smaller units to the field while carrying its own weapons and comes in three different classes. The Lynx is a small yet formidable robot with a versatile, spherical design that makes it effective across many terrains, and it is quite fast.

On top of the new robot enemies, the Landfall update adds various new improvements to Generation Zero’s world. That includes revamps to the Southern Forest Region & Marshlands (Partial) locations in the game. The revamps will come with new in-game Collectibles in the Southern Forest Region and the Marshlands. The patch notes hint that the Marshland collectibles might provide some details on the new machines’ arrival.

In response to player feedback, the Landfall update also adds various quality-of-life improvements to Generation Zero, one of which is the addition of the weapon wheel to the game. The weapon wheel will let players navigate their loadouts more easily, so they’re not limited to three weapons at a time and can mix and match weapons as they want. The update adds other improvements to material descriptions, schematics can be seen in location summaries, and more.

Generation Zero is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
