Just days ago, Bouchard had express doubts over participation in the Games, spawned by fear of the Zika virus and other questions.
The Rio Games begin Aug. 5.
Numerous tennis players have backed out of playing at Rio, including Canada’s Milos Raonic. Among women, significant refusals came from Simona Halep of Romania and Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic.
Bouchard, 22, who is from Quebec, will be in Rio with Canadians Gabriela Dabrowski, Vasek Pospisil and Daniel Nestor.
After a breakout 2014 season, Bouchard struggled to maintain success the past two years. She reached the semifinals at the 2014 Australian and French opens, and the finals of Wimbledon last year.
Her game slipped in 2015, a year culminated by a shower-room fall at the U.S. Open that left Bouchard concussed. She is 42nd in world rankings.
Her announcement came as Bouchard played in the Rogers Cup tournament in Montreal. On Tuesday, she reached the event’s third round with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova, who had similarly beaten her at Wimbledon.
