Smith missed one snap after being hit in the left knee area by the Patriots’ Chris Jones early in the fourth quarter. Smith lay on the field for several minutes as the training staff tended to him.

He eventually walked off the field and was replaced by Michael Vick, who ran for 6 yards on his lone snap.
Jones was not penalized on the play, even though he appeared to violate the so-called Brady Rule against low hits.
Jones later secured the Patriots’ 27-25 victory by blocking Nick Folk’s 58-yard field-goal attempt on the game’s final play.
