Smith was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence, while DePriest was suspended last week for a violation of team rules.

Tuesday's practice was Alabama's first of five consecutive days after taking off Sunday and Monday after scrimmaging Saturday.

According to observations, Smith did not practice with the usual group of defensive backs. He worked with walk-ons and seldom-used backups. Jarrick Williams played Smith’s “Star” position.

DePriest practiced with the linebackers, but Tana Patrick filled his role with the starting group.
