So far, the title is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile and has still brought in a huge community. As a game supposedly getting content for 12 years, Genshin Impact is consistently receiving patches that add characters or activities. The 1.5 update is sounding fairly packed with extra ways to engage with the world and a handful of boosts for the next generation console.

Fans ready for the patch, “Beneath the Light of Jadite,” can grab it when it releases on April 28. Though players could download the game on PS5, this update brings the first next-gen benefits to the title. According to miHoYo, this includes better visual enhancements as well as improved performance. Veterans will need to get some more Wishes in Genshin Impact because new characters are arriving. With 1.5 going into the history of Liyue, the team is introducing the five-star Eula and four-star Yanfei.

While players grind resources to earn these new heroes, they can face off against additional monsters too. These 1.5 enemies provide resources for character progression, which should help with leveling up fast. As shown in the 1.5 leaks for Genshin Impact, another major feature coming to the game allows customization of a personal realm. Players will want to join up with friends to earn extra Co-Op Championship EXP too. Plus, miHoYo is making it easier to get the weekly Trounce Domain rewards, a boon for those logging in often.

The 1.5 update sounds like a pretty substantial update for miHoYo’s world. Not only can players enjoy a better-looking world to explore, but there are a host of new activities to pursue. Characters are a large part of the appeal since players can mix and match their teams. More additions to the character tier list in Genshin Impact are welcome, especially when facing off against the unique threats in 1.5. The personal realm will definitely be a draw for fans, as it opens up an end-game goal to dive into.

That said, it is a bit concerning that miHoYo is not being specific about the PS5 updates. While typically this could mean 4k and 60 fps, at this point there is no official confirmation from the team. Unfortunately, those hoping for the developers to unlock more parts of the map will be waiting for a future patch. In any case, Genshin Impact players will be able to check out all the coming content in a matter of weeks.

Genshin Impact is out now for Mobile, PC, and PS4, with PS5 releasing April 28, while in development for Switch.
