Genshin Impact players can pull Fischl from the Wish system. If they choose to use her, players can build a powerful support or DPS character. However, there are a few caveats to watch out for when (quite literally) playing as the mysterious Prinzessin der Verurteilung.
10 Sending Her On Non-Mondstadt Expeditions
Expeditions can be overlooked by some players since they are only brought up when Travelers talk to Katheryne of the Adventurer’s Guild. Furthermore, all characters have a special utility Talent that provides special bonuses to various activities, such as cooking and crafting.
Fischl’s utility Talent lets her complete Mondstadt Expeditions 25% faster. Because 0f this, there is practically no reason to send her to Liyue or any of the other nations.
9 Not Using Animation Canceling
For those that intend on using Fischl as a physical DPS, animation canceling is essential, yet some players are unaware of this useful mechanic. Fischl’s fifth and final hit on her normal attack has a rather lengthy animation before the next combo can begin.
The easiest way to cancel this is to dash out of it, allowing Fischl to begin her next attack almost immediately. This will increase her overall DPS and is important in timed challenges like the Spiral Abyss.
8 Assuming That Her Burst Has Invincibility Frames
It can be easy to assume that Fischl’s Elemental Burst has invincibility frames due to how the game treats other Bursts.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. While players might be tempted to use her Burst as a get out of jail free card (especially after unlocking her fourth Constellation, enabling her to heal when it’s over), Fischl can still be damaged in this state and is particularly vulnerable to AoE attacks.
7 Overlooking Cooldown Reset Opportunities
Since Oz has a relatively long cooldown, taking advantage of equipment that can reset cooldown like the Sacrificial Bow is recommended. However, opting for the Sacrificial Bow foregoes the use of the Stringless, which is generally considered to be Fischl’s best bow for support builds.

An alternative solution would be to equip a 4-piece Gambler set. In addition to resetting cooldown, this set also gives Fischl a boost in Elemental Skill damage, something she needs if she will be deploying Oz often.
6 Not Taking Advantage Of Electro Elemental Resonance
Elemental Resonance is crucial to building the strongest teams. For example, having two or more Pyro characters in a team gives the whole party a whopping 25% attack boost.
Each element has its own passive bonuses, but the one that would benefit Fischl the most is Electro. If Fischl triggers an Electro-related Reaction, she will gain an Electro elemental particle, allowing her to regain her energy faster and keep her Burst online more consistently.
5 Not Taking Oz’s Positioning Into Consideration
Positioning Oz is key to using him effectively. If players hold Fischl’s Elemental Skill, they will be able to set up where Oz is summoned. This is important because Oz deals damage upon being summoned, and the damage and AoE can be further augmented with Fischl’s second Constellation.
It’s also important to note that if Fischl uses her Elemental Skill when Oz is on the field, it will spawn him next to her. This can be used to bring him within attack range of a distant foe.
4 Failing To Optimize Her Loadout
Like with any other character in Genshin Impact, players will need to build a loadout tailored according to how they intend on playing them. While Fischl is an excellent support, she is perfectly viable as a physical DPS unit as well.

One of the best loadouts for a physical DPS build includes the Rust bow (or Compound Bow for F2P players) along with a 2-piece Gladiator’s Finale and Bloodstained Chivalry. Likewise, one of the best loadouts for support Fischl would be The Stringless (or Favonius Warbow as the F2P option) coupled with a 4-piece Thundering Fury.
3 Overlooking Her Potential As An Enabler
Due to the fact that Oz is a summon, Fischl can be a great enabler. Oz will constantly damage and apply Electro to enemies, allowing players to switch to their main DPS and trigger Reactions.
Using a physical DPS build Cryo character such as Rosaria or Eula lets players trigger Superconduct, which lowers the enemy’s physical resistance and increases their damage potential. Alternatively, players can use a Pyro character like Diluc to trigger Overloaded, dealing AoE Pryo damage.
2 Not Using The Stringless For Support Builds
The Stringless is widely considered to be the best bow for a pure support or enabler Fischl thanks to its Elemental Mastery stat and the bonus damage it provides to both her Elemental Skill and Burst. At full refinement, the Stringless provides almost 50% more damage to both her Skill and Burst, and coupled with the boost to Elemental Mastery, lets her deal significantly more damage when she triggers Reactions like Superconduct or Overloaded.
The major caveat is that The Stringless is a random drop from the Wish system, so players need to get lucky if they want to utilize this bow to its fullest potential.
1 Mismanaging Oz’s Cooldown
One of the biggest mistakes players can make when using Fischl is mismanaging how long Oz is on the field. Players typically spam Elemental Bursts as soon as they are available, especially in timed challenges like the Spiral Abyss. However, this method is inefficient, as using Fischl’s Burst when Oz is still on the field resets his duration.
To use an extreme example, if players use Fischl’s Elemental Skill and then immediately use her Burst, Oz will have a roughly 10-second uptime while both of the character’s Skill and Burst will be on cooldown.
In contrast, if players wait and let Oz expire, then immediately use Fischl’s Burst, Oz will have a 20-second uptime. Furthermore, Fischl’s Elemental Skill will be almost ready, allowing players to summon Oz yet again.
