The wait seems to finally be over, as the official Genshin Impact social media accounts revealed two upcoming characters that will be playable in a couple of weeks. Revealing new characters before 2.4 beta starts is miHoYo’s way that those characters will be a part of the update.

The Genshin Impact Twitter reveal teased two upcoming characters that will be playable, including the long-awaited Shenhe and Yun Jin. The release of the new region Inazuma has brought multiple characters tied to that region with Gorou and Arataki Itto being the most recently announced.

According to the official Genshin Impact lore, Yun Jin is a prestigious dancer, singer, and brewer who works at the popular Heyu Tea House. She will be a brand new Geo character who caught many Genshin Impact fans by surprise, considering that she was heavily rumored to be an Anemo Vision user. When it comes to her rarity there is no official information but recent rumors hint that Yun Jin could be a four-star character. A recent update by one of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers named Ubatcha1 has confirmed that she will be a support character, similar to Zhongli.

Her ability to buff team members’ Attack with Defence means that she could be a perfect fit for the popular Geo party. Yun Jin could be a cheaper four-star replacement for Zhongli which means that she will have great synergy with the upcoming characters Arataki Itto and Albedo. Adding another strong support character like Albedo could make this a viable party. Albedo will be available in the upcoming Genshin Impact double banner and it seems like miHoYo is slowly pushing players to build a party of Geo characters.

If the rumors about their rarity are true, both of these characters are expected to be a part of the same banner which is great news for players who are planning to pull for both of them. When it comes to the other banner, multiple leaks have been hinting that it could be another banner re-run featuring Ganyu and Xiao. This means that update 2.4 could bring two new characters and a double-banner re-run.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
