Besides Yae Miko’s gameplay, the official 2.5 live stream has revealed the arrival of a new region by the name Chasm for update 2.6. A recent leak on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed more information about this region, including its two maps.

One of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers named GenshinBLANK has revealed more information about Chasm. Apparently, the new region will be divided into two different parts, the underground mines, and the aboveground terrain. Multiple rumors have confirmed that, in terms of height, the mines will be the lowest point of Teyvat, much deeper than the popular Genshin Impact region Enkanomiya.

The maps reveal that Chasm will have a radial design with multiple teleport points including a new Statue of The Seven. Hype and speculation have been surrounding this region considering that its name has been displayed on the in-game map for many months now. This famous region will bring a new type of Genshin Impact enemy from the Automaton family named Ruin Serpent. According to multiple leaks, the Ruin Serpent will be a brand new world boss which is unusual for the Automaton enemy type.

Developer miHoYo keeps adding new explorable terrain every other update with the Enkanomiya being the most recent addition. However, multiple leaks have already revealed that another major Genshin Impact nation named Sumeru could be just around the corner. The story that revolves around Chasm will apparently serve as an introduction to a new major nation. Each nation in the game has its own respective Archon and its divine ideals which are justice, freedom, order, etc. In the case of Sumeru, the God of Wisdom rules in the pursuit of all knowledge.

In addition, each nation favors a particular element that the Archon originates from. For Sumeru, the official story has confirmed that it follows the lead of the Dendro Archon, whose powers create life from the surrounding desert. Dendro is the only Genshin Impact element yet to be introduced to the game and players can expect a very flowery and plant-like environment when they enter the new nation. Even though Genshin Impact’s usual schedule includes adding a new major region every year, these leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt considering that miHoYo is yet to officially confirm Sumeru’s arrival.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
