Considering the recent Genshin Impact leak on Reddit revealing the game’s new limited characters, fans can anticipate 2.6’s new character, Kamisato Ayato, Ayaka’s older brother, and the second Hydro sword wielder in the game behind Xingqui. Although he was technically announced on social media some weeks ago, introducing new characters and banners is usually each update’s focal point. Based on videos, Ayato seems to bring intense speed, which was a gripe mentioned by fans that the developers neglect attack speed stats on multiple characters.
This 2.6 update brings an area called The Chasm, making it officially explorable for players. The site is an abandoned mine far below Liyue that’s always been available but unable to be ventured and has a new boss lurking within its depths known as the Ruin Serpent. Previously announced player events will be available such as Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens, Vibro-Crystal Research, and Spices from the West. The Hues of the Violet Court: Irodori Festival also has related story quests and four minigames that reward players with the character Xingqui upon completion.
Banners are the heart of Genshin Impact’s gatcha system. With the upcoming 2.6 version, much excitement comes with Kamisato Ayato’s banner, the Azure Excursion, as it introduces the first phase of his new banner. Anemo Archon Venti, another five-star character, will be having a banner rerun reintroducing the event Ballad of Goblets with possible characters such as Sucrose, Razor, Noelle, Barbara, Fischl, and Xiangling. Ayato’s sister Ayaka will follow up in the second phase of 2.6 with a rerun banner known as The Heron’s Court, which previously included characters Ninguang, Chongyun, and Yanfei.
With everything players can look forward to, like the Haran Gappaku Futsu sword, two new artifact sets, the Vermillion Hereafter, and Echos of an Offering, Genshin Impact players can expect an adventure and free stuff in the 2.6 version.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version also in development.
