While Genshin Impact Version 2.6 has not even arrived yet, rumors have already possibly revealed a lot of information about the next characters in line to be released. The game’s official social media accounts have already confirmed two new characters for update 2.7, which should arrive around May 15.

A new leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed more information about the upcoming Hydro bow user, Yelan. Although the leak seemed questionable at first since the source was unverified at the time, one of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers, Tangzhu, later clarified that the leak about Yelan’s kit is true. Yelan will apparently have an off-field passive which will decrease the next charged attack time by 80% and apply AoE Hydro damage. According to these and a couple of previous leaks, she will most likely be a support character who can help her team even when she is not on the field, similar to the Genshin Impact’s popular Raiden Shogun.
Yelan’s Elemental skill will apparently have a press and a hold mechanic. Both of those will cause Yelan to sprint and increase the chance of obtaining the above-mentioned passive status. Yelan’s burst will apparently be similar to Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst which creates a set of swords that orbit around the character. The damage will apparently scale with the character’s HP.
When it comes to Yelan’s constellation, players will probably tend to acquire her C2 level as it grants one extra hit on her Elemental Burst. Even though Tangzhu’s sources are rarely wrong, these leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt. The only confirmed thing about Yelan is that she is a new Genshin Impact Hydro character with a bow as her weapon of choice.
Yelan is not the only character that has been officially announced by the game’s social media accounts. Another four-star character named Kuki Shinobu is scheduled to arrive in the same update, but rumors claim that they will be featured on different banner cycles. Leaks about Kuki’s kit revealed that she could have Energy Recharge problems that can be solved by pulling for her first constellation which should not be a big problem, considering her four-star rarity.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
