Now that Faruzan is released, Anemo units can rely on her to deal higher damage. However, this savior appears to have plenty of weaknesses that players should be wary of; here are some examples.

6 Using Faruzan At Low Constellation

Faruzan at C6 is not the Faruzan players will experience at zero Constellation. It’s mostly because her final Constellation consists of two major effects that should’ve been split into earlier Constellations instead. At C6, the one-hundred years ago researcher doesn’t only grant a 40% Anemo Crit DMG Bonus, but also an auto Pressurized Collapse damage. Now, instead of waiting for Faruzan’s Charged Attack to crowd control the enemies, the main DPS can do the grouping simply by dealing damage. The only condition is that the character must be under the Prayerful Wind’s buff from Faruzan’s ultimate.

Meanwhile, at C0, Faruzan is rather poor at crowd controlling, has an Energy issue (this is improved at C4), and has a rather underwhelming Burst. All this makes Faruzan an unpopular choice at lower Constellation, but a top-tier support at full enhancements.

5 Not Fully Benefiting From Faruzan’s Burst

Faruzan’s Burst can grant Anemo DMG Bonus to ally and Anemo RES reduction to foe, but this buff and debuff aren’t granted easily. After casting her Burst, Faruzan’s Dazzling Polyhedron will move in a triangular path. To get the buff, players have to make sure they’re within the Whirlwind Pulse’s AoE each time it triggers. Similarly, enemies also must be in the AoE to be debuffed.

Players should also know that Whirlwind Pulse deals no damage. It can’t be utilized to trigger Swirl, nor can it be relied on for damage dealing.

4 Ignoring Faruzan’s Pressurized Collapse

After Faruzan casts her Elemental Skill, she will enter the Manifest Gale state. Faruzan’s next Charged Attack will release a Hurricane Arrow and creates a Pressurized Collapse. This Anemo explosion is important for several reasons:

It pulls nearby enemies to the center, crowd-controlling them It’s crucial to trigger Elegy for the End effect It grants the Perfidious Wind’s Bale debuff, reducing enemy’s Anemo RES by 30% for 4s

Once Faruzan reaches maximum Constellation, this Pressurized Collapse will continuously trigger as long as the active character deals Anemo DMG (they need to have Faruzan’s Prayerful Wind’s buff, though). This ensures nearby enemies will always be controlled and have their Anemo RES reduced.

3 Overthinking Faruzan’s Artifact

It appears like there’s no artifact that is absolutely perfect for Faruzan. She can’t properly use Viridescent Venerer since she barely deals Anemo DMG (unless players have her at C6). Noblesse Oblige doesn’t fare well with her 20s cooldown and Energy demand, while damage-focused artifacts also do poorly since Faruzan doesn’t deal much damage, to begin with.

Therefore, players shouldn’t overthink Faruzan’s artifact. As long as she has enough Energy Recharge to maintain 100% Burst uptime, she should be able to do her job perfectly.

2 Not Having Enough Energy Recharge

Faruzan has a highly demanding Elemental Burst with an 80 Energy requirement. This is among the highest Energy count, bested by only Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko with their 90 Energy ultimate. However, unlike the Electro Archon that can easily refill her Elemental Burst, Faruzan struggles to fulfill her requirement. Her Elemental Skill doesn’t produce that much Energy, and at C0, players will suffer with Faruzan’s Elemental Burst. Luckily, Faruzan got a slight Energy improvement at C4, which helps in addressing this issue.

To ensure Faruzan can always cast her ultimate, players have to equip her with enough Energy Recharge (ER). The researcher’s bow must be one that has an Energy Recharge sub-stat, and Faruzan’s artifact should also focus on ER stat. Travelers must keep assessing the amount of ER their Faruzan needs until she no longer struggles to refill her Elemental Burst.

1 Ignoring Faruzan’s Base ATK Stat

Faruzan gives a flat DMG Bonus to any Anemo hit done by the active character that’s affected by her Prayerful Wind’s Benefit (granted via her Elemental Burst). 32% of Faruzan’s Base ATK will be included in the active character’s damage calculation, increasing their overall damage output. This bonus will be even greater when Faruzan has all of her Constellations unlocked.

Because the bonus scales with Base ATK, players can’t increase the bonus by using artifacts or ATK buffs. The only way to increase Base ATK is to maximize Faruzan’s level and equip a Bow with a high primary stat.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
