Genshin Impact 3.0 is one of the game’s heftiest updates since the addition of Inazuma back in version 2.0. It incorporates the land of wisdom, Sumeru, into the ever-growing map, as well as a few fun events and environmental puzzles for players to complete.

Genshin Impact Version 3.0 New Characters and Banners

One of the most awaited inclusions in Genshin Impact 3.0 is the first set of Dendro characters: Tighnari and Collei. Tighnari is the first 5-Star Dendro Bow user, while Collei is a popular 4-Star Dendro Bow user with ties to Amber, as shown in the Genshin Impact manga. The two are currently available in the Limited-time Wish Banners of the first phase of 3.0, alongside 4-Star characters Diona and Fischl.

The second phase of Genshin Impact 3.0 Wish Banners will become available early in September and feature reruns of 5-Star characters Kokomi and Ganyu. The full list of 4-Stars included on these banners is still unknown, but Dori will be part of it. Dori is the third new character to be introduced in Genshin Impact 3.0. She’s an Electro Claymore user that players have dubbed the “cooler Diona.”

Though they technically aren’t a new character, Genshin Impact 3.0 also introduces the Dendro Traveler. Given their kit, which lends itself to off-field Damage, they’re a pretty decent Sub-DPS for teams focused on Dendro Reactions. That said, players should try to get them to C6 to maximize their potential. Otherwise, it’s best to pull for Tighnari or wait for the next 5-Star Dendro characters.

Genshin Impact Quests and Events for Version 3.0

Now that players can explore Sumeru, they can also continue with Genshin Impact’s main storyline. The 3.0 update triggers Chapter 3 of the Archon Quest and starts off with the first two acts. Act 1 has the player crossing the Chasm into Sumeru then meeting both Collei and Tighnari. Upon reaching Sumeru City, the player then meets more characters, notably Alhaitham, Dehya, and Nilou of Genshin Impact, who will become playable in later updates.

Act 2 is when the introductions end and the strange happenings begin. After having met the people of Sumeru, the Traveler is invited to attend the Sabzeruz Festival. It’s a celebration that commemorates the birth of the new Genshin Impact Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali. However, Paimon and the Traveler soon realize that they’re trapped in a never-ending time loop and must find a way to escape it.

Upon completing Act 2 of this Archon quest, players will have to wait for the next update for the continuation of the main storyline. In the meantime, they can tackle Tignhari’s Story Quest titled “Vulpes Zerda Chapter 1.” Alternatively, they can focus on the limited-time events for Genshin Impact update 3.0.

The event that’s available as of posting this article is “Graven Innocence,” and its first quest unlocks Genshin Impact Collei for the player’s team. This event is a mishmash of different quests, so there’s plenty for players to spend time on. The Traveler is tasked with crafting woodcarvings, taking photos of the wildlife in Sumeru, and other such challenges. Based on the Genshin Impact update 3.0 trailer, the community can also expect more events – “Tablet Analytics,” “Lost Riches” (which rewards a free Seelie pet), and “Fayz Trials.” More information on these limited-time quests will become available when they’re released sometime before the next update.

Newly Added Items in Genshin Impact 3.0

Now that there are playable Dendro characters in Genshin Impact, there are also new weapons and artifacts to match their playstyles. HoYoverse added an entire set of craftable 4-Star weapons, a majority of which have special effects related to the new Genshin Impact Dendro Reactions. These weapons are as follows:

Forest Regalia (claymore) Sapwood Blade (sword) King’s Squire (bow) Moonpiercer (polearm) Fruit Of Fulfillment (catalyst)

There are two other weapons that are new to Genshin Impact 3.0. The first is Tighnari’s signature weapon – Hunter’s Path. It’s a 5-Star Bow that can be acquired by wishing on the Weapon Banner. Currently, the first phase of the Genshin Impact 3.0 Weapon Banner features this weapon and Zhongli’s signature weapon, Vortex Vanquisher.

The last new weapon is reminiscent of the Luxurious Sea-Lord Claymore as it’s a bow in the form of swordfish. Humorously named End of the Line, the bow can be acquired from the Fishing Association of Sumeru, just like how The Catch can be obtained from the Inazuma Fishing Association.

Finally, there are two new sets of Genshin Impact artifacts that can be farmed. The first is the Deepwood Memories set, which is tailored for Dendro characters as it increases their Dendro Damage and decreases enemy Dendro Resistance. On the other hand, the Gilded Dreams Set focuses on increasing the equipping character’s Elemental Mastery and Attack Damage based on the other team members’ Elements. These can be farmed from the Spire Of Solitary Enlightenment Domain, located directly west of the Chasm, at the border between the two regions.

Newest Bosses in Genshin Impact Update 3.0

Genshin Impact update 3.0 also comes with new World Bosses. The first is a new iteration of the Regisvine. The Electro Regisvine can be found in the Lokapala Jungle of Sumeru, specifically in a subterranean area of the Mawtiyima Forest. It drops a unique item known as the Thunderclap Fruitcore. Though it isn’t assigned to any playable character yet, it’s most probably one of Dori’s Character Ascension materials.

The other Genshin Impact boss added in version 3.0 is the Jadeplume Terrorshroom, which is the first Dendro boss in the game. It can be found by the northwestern border of Sumeru known as the Vissuda Field. Its unique drop is the Majestic Hooked Beak, which is required to level up Tighnari.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Nintendo Switch version is in development.
