After Enkanomiya’s arrival back in update 2.4, Genshin Impact’s livestream event has now officially announced a brand-new region named Chasm for the upcoming Version 2.6. However, it seems as though Chasm won’t be the only region arriving in the future updates.

A popular Genshin Impact leaker has revealed more information about the arrival of a new major region named Sumeru. Apparently, the new region is expected to arrive in update 3.0, which is scheduled after 2.8. According to the game’s usual update schedule, Genshin Impact update 3.0 should drop at the end of July. This means that the game will introduce another Archon to the game, and Sumeru’s protector is rumored to be the youngest out of The Seven Archons.

Hoyoverse has already confirmed the arrival of a new region named Chasm in the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 2.6. Multiple leaks have revealed that its arrival will be separated into two updates. The name Chasm has been a part of the game’s map for a very long time, and fans are excited to see what it might bring. Even though previous rumors have been hinting that this region will be the first one to introduce the famous Dendro element, it seems as though Hoyoverse decided to delay it once again.

However, the official Genshin Impact story has also confirmed that Sumeru will be the home of the Dendro element. There is a total of seven different elements in Genshin Impact, and Dendro is the only one that has no playable characters using it. Adding a brand-new element to the game could completely shift the current meta considering all the new elemental reactions it would bring.

While there is not much information about how the new element works, leaks about its first characters have been floating around since the game arrived back in 2020. Apart from its Archon, the only two Dendro characters that have been mentioned in multiple rumors are Baizhu and Yaoyao. Baizhu is a well-known character as he already appeared in multiple quests in Liyue, while there is not a lot of information about Yaoyao apart from her in-game model.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
