Genshin Impact is an open-world free-to-play title from miHoYo and therefore uses the gacha system in the form of Wishes. Through Wishes, players can win four-star characters via event banners for a low chance, and rare five-star characters such as Jean and Diluc for an even lower chance. However, this often means that Genshin characters who can only be acquired through Wishes are the best party members to keep around, whether it be as an elemental support or a pure damage dealer.

Updated on December 11, 2021, by Nahda Nabiilah: Over one year later, Xiangling remains one of the most used characters in Genshin Impact. This F2P unit can get ridiculously strong with full Constellations, which allows her to maintain her position on the top tier. However, this already-strong character gets even stronger with the release of Inazuma. In Version 2.1, a new polearm was released, one that’d be the perfect equipment for the Culinary Star. Meanwhile, in update 2.0, a new artifact set is bound to significantly change Xiangling’s performance. Therefore, this guide is updated with the new best build for Xiangling.
How To Get Xiangling In Genshin Impact
Xiangling is a Pyro user who wields a polearm, which is likely a unique addition for players choosing to go the pure free-to-play route of Genshin Impact. Xiangling will first appear in a cooking side quest and can be obtained one of two ways: either via Wishes or, after reaching Adventure Rank 20, surpassing Chamber 3, Floor 3 of Spiral Abyss. It’s not an easy feat for new players, but adding her to the party can be a major boost.
Xiangling Support Build In Genshin Impact
The main way most Genshin Impact players choose to build Xiangling is by buffing her Pyro Damage to support other party members and deal hefty blows off-field. To do this, players will want to solely focus on deploying Guoba and her Pyronado attack before switching Xiangling out.
Support Xiangling Artifact
Artifact Main Stat:
Timepiece: Attack% or Energy Recharge% Goblet: Pyro Damage Bonus% Headwear: Critical Rate or Damage%
Artifact Set:
4-Emblem of Severed Fate 2-Crimson Witch + 2-Noblesse Oblige 4-Crimson Witch
To get the most out of Xiangling, players will want to focus on Elemental Burst Damage. Because Xiangling has poor Energy production, she needs Energy Recharge to fully function. It will ensure that Pyronado will be ready faster.
Travelers would want to aim for around 200% Energy Recharge. If they can’t get this number with Artifact sub stat and weapon, then use Energy Recharge main stat on the artifact. Otherwise, they can opt for Attack.

As for Artifacts, any set that focuses on Pyro Damage or Energy Recharge will show the biggest benefits with Xiangling. Emblem of Severed Fate offers Energy Recharge while giving a major Damage boost on her Elemental Burst.
Meanwhile, Crimson Witch of Flames’ 2-piece bonus offers a Pyro Damage increase of 15% while its 4-piece set will increase Overload and Burning Damage by 40% and Vaporize and Melt by 15%. Following the use of Xiangling’s Elemental Skill, it will increase the 2-piece set’s abilities by 50% for 10 seconds.
Support Xiangling Weapon
Engulfing Lightning Staff of Homa Skyward Pride Deathmatch “The Catch” Dragon’s Bane Lithic Spear Favonius Lance
The ideal weapon for the Xiangling Support Build is dominated by those with Energy Recharge sub stat. Other than that, Critical, Attack, and Elemental Mastery is also a great addition to Xiangling. Most of her weapons are premium equipment that can be obtained via Wishing.
Fortunately for F2P, one of the Chef’s best weapons is free to acquire in-game. Travelers can exchange it by doing a lot of fishing in the open-world. This polearm, The Catch, will increase her Energy Recharge rate while also allowing her to deal higher Elemental Burst damage.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
