Weapons, characters, and artifacts in Genshin Impact are all ranked in power by a star system. 1-star items are the worst of the bunch and are typically only used as experience for better items, while 5-star items are incredibly powerful but very rare. It comes as no surprise then that the best sword in the game is a 5-star sword.
Updated on October 12, 2021 by Nahda Nabiilah: Genshin Impact enters a new era with the release of Inazuma in version 2.0. After a year, a lot has changed in Genshin Impact. For example, there are a lot of new materials and artifacts for players to farm. These new materials are used to upgrade newly-released weapons and characters. From the initial two 5-star swords available upon release, Genshin Impact now has six 5-star swords available. Three out of six swords stand out better than the rest. To know more, here are the best swords available in Genshin Impact.
The Best Swords In Genshin Impact
Swords are used by a lot of Genshin Impact characters. It is crucial that players familiarize themselves with this weapon as it’s utilized by some of the best characters in the game. For example, Bennett and Xingqiu are both sword users.
Naturally, some swords are better than some others. So players should know which ones they really shouldn’t sleep on.
Aquila Favonia
Aquila Favonia is a 5-star sword and has the highest base attack along with Mistsplitter Reforged, sitting at 48 at level 1. Beyond just dealing great damage, Aquila Favonia’s passive ability, Falcon’s Defiance, provides a 20% bonus to the wielder’s attack stat all the time.
The passive also triggers an effect whenever the player is hit while using this sword – they regenerate HP equal to 100% of their attack stat and deal 200% of their attack stat as damage to surrounding enemies. This effect can be triggered once every 15 seconds and provides consistent damage and healing throughout a fight. This weapon will be especially powerful when used by Genshin Impact’s S Tier sword users like Jean.
Mistsplitter Reforged
Mistsplitter Reforged was released along with Ayaka in Genshin Impact 2.0. This weapon has Critical Damage as its substat, making it the perfect choice for the Cryo princess.
The weapon’s passive is also fully offensive, making Mistsplitter Reforged one of the best swords for DPS characters. However, players should be aware of how the passive works as it’s a very specific system. For example, this weapon is mostly viable for characters that deal Elemental Damage on their Normal Attacks, like Ayaka and Keqing.
Primordial Jade Cutter
Unlike Mistsplitter Reforged and Aquila Favonia, Primordial Jade Cutter has a low base attack. However, this is compensated by its insane substat. At level 90, Primordial Jade Cutter offers a 44.1% Critical Rate. This weapon practically allows players to focus completely on Critical Damage. Furthermore, the weapon’s passive, which increases health by 20% and the attack stat by 1.2% of the user’s HP, is also usable on all characters.
The Black Sword
The Black Sword is obtainable from the Battle Pass. While this means it’s inaccessible for F2P players, there’s no doubt that The Black Sword is one of the best swords in Genshin Impact. Just like Primordial Jade Cutter, it offers Critical Rate from the substat. And just like Aquila Favonia, The Black Sword also offers minor healing through its passive, along with a boost to Normal and Charged attacks.
Sacrificial Sword
Sacrificial Sword is far from offensive, but it’s an amazing choice for support characters. Just like any other Sacrificial weapon, Sacrificial Sword also offers a cooldown reset. With Energy Recharge as its substat, this weapon is ideal for characters like Xingqiu.
Xingqiu would greatly benefit from the cooldown reset and Energy Recharge boost, where players can ensure his Elemental Burst is always ready.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, PS5, and later on Switch.
