However, it seems as though Collei and Tighnari won’t be the only Dendro characters to appear in the first Sumeru update. With the addition of every new major region in the game, Genshin Impact’s main character can now equip and use an additional element.

A popular Genshin Impact leaker named Ubatcha1 has revealed the gameplay animations for the upcoming Dendro version of the Traveler. The Traveler is the main character in Genshin Impact and at the beginning of their journey, players have the option to choose between Lumine and Aether to lead them through the world of Teyvat. At the moment, the Traveler can be equipped with three different elements, Anemo, Geo, and Electro which represent the three current major regions of Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. The arrival of a new region means that both Aether and Lumine will learn to control an additional element named Dendro.
The video shows Lumine using the Dendro element in the new Genshin Impact region named Sumeru. According to the new leaks, Lumine’s elemental skill will allow her to strike with her blade unleashing a spray of razor-sharp leaves in front of the character dealing Dendro damage. The skill will deal 230-547% of her Attack damage, and it will have a flat 8-second cooldown. While the elemental is pretty straightforward, the new burst seems to be much more complex.
Casting their elemental burst will allow the Traveler to create a Lea Lotus Lamp which deals continuous Dendro damage in within a large area. The Lea Lotus Lamp reacts differently when it’s exposed to three Hydro Electro and Pyro. Applying Hydro to it will increase its area of effect and doing Electro damage to the Lamp will increase its attack speed which can be useful if players need constant Dendro application. Applying Pyro will make the Lamp explode and completely disappear dealing AoE Dendro damage in the process.
Fans seem very happy with the new Dendro Traveler as it seems to be much stronger compared to their other elemental forms. For example, the new elemental skill deals almost the same amount of damage as the Geo skill, but it has a much larger area of effect. Multiple replies claim that the new elemental burst is probably the Traveler’s best skill overall as it gives continuous off-field Dendro application for 15 seconds.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
