Not only does Collei have tons of lore to provide to Genshin Impact players, but she’s also tons of fun to play thanks to the fact that she belongs to the brand new Dendro element. Here’s how to get Collei in Genshin Impact for free, as well as how to complete the entire Graven Innocence event and the quest lines within.

How To Get Collei
Many players will primarily be wondering how far they’ll have to play into the Graven Innocence event until they can receive Collei. Thankfully, players can receive her for free very shortly into the event, though the entire thing is worth playing for the extra rewards of Primogems and rare materials.
The Unappreciated Carving Quest
To begin The Unappreciated Carving quest that will allow players to get a free Collei, head to Port Ormos in the south of Sumeru. Once there, players need to make their way to Acara Crafts in the higher levels of Port Ormos — it should be marked with a little store marker on the map when zooming in on the Port. Once players get close to the shop, a cutscene will start, so keep looking.

The craftsmen working at Acara Crafts will share the difficulties they’ve been having making a toy that children will like. The toy they’re trying to make is based on cute fictional characters from a very popular children’s book series, but many of the kids around the Port say that the toy is nothing like the characters from the novels they enjoy so much. To try and gain a better understanding of the character they’re using as a model, the two craftsmen will ask the Traveler and Paimon to travel back to the rainforest together to find the author, Tanger, and ask him for notes on his writing.
After this cutscene, travel to Gandharva Ville near Avidya Forest to find Tanger. Another cutscene will begin, and they’ll stumble across Collei helping a lost little boy, Razi, who ended up lost near Gandharva Ville. Razi is actually the son of the famous author Tanger; once Collei learns who he’s looking for, she agrees to help the Traveler locate his father. After this cutscene, the player will receive Collei for free.
Graven Innocence Quests
The Graven Innocence event will continue after the player gains Collei for free, including The Unappreciated Carving mini-quest. To complete the rest of The Unappreciated Carving, follow Razi to find Tanger. After finding Tanger, speak to him and help him discover the Aranara’s Trail. From here, there are only a few more things for the player to do — mostly speaking to Tanger, Razi, and Collei. As long as the Traveler follows the quest markers they’re given, they should be fine.
There are also several mini-events in the overarching Graven Innocent event itself that players should complete for Primogems and brand new Sumeru materials. These mini-events include Metamorphosis of Wood, Meticulous Craftsmanship, and Roaming the Jungle. Each of these will allow the player to gain event-limited materials that they can exchange in the event shop for a ton of different things, so it’s highly recommended to take part.
Meticulous Craftsmanship
For this part of the event, the player must complete the Selling Like Hot Carvings mini-quest that follows The Unappreciated Carving quest which players received Collei. All that is required from this is for the player to return to Port Ormos to check back in with the owners of the store they initially met. Once the player gives feedback to the craftsmen who had sent them to find Razi and Tanger, they will receive Primogems, and this mini-event will be complete.

Roaming the Jungle
This part of the event has several smaller mini-games, as follows:
In ‘Snapshots,’ the player will receive a special Kamera through completing the small storyline. They must then explore the rainforests of Sumeru to take pictures of different creatures that inhabit the wilderness. In ‘Behemoth Observation,’ the player must fight the new Sumeru bosses, including the Electro Regisvine and the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. There are also speed and agility-based mini-games, including ‘Braving the Elements’ and ‘Grove Dash,’ which require the player to move quickly through Sumeru and reach a specific location in a certain amount of time.
By taking part in these assorted mini-games, the player will win themselves different event items that can be exchanged in the event shop, as well as materials that can be used to craft their own statues in Metamorphosis of Wood.
Metamorphosis of Wood
In Metamorphosis of Wood, the player can assemble their own Aranara carvings back at the store in Port Ormos. This is similar to prior Genshin Impact events, particularly the snowman building event in Version 2.3. To get the materials needed to craft their own Aranara statues, players must first take part in Roaming the Jungle.
