Genshin Impact: Activate the Secret Message at the Altar in the Serpent’s Heart

After arriving at Serpent’s Heart and obtaining the objective to activate the secret message at the altar, Genshin Impact players will be given a new quest waypoint. This waypoint is positioned directly in the center of the relevant altar, but fans will not be able to activate it straightway. Indeed, players must first interact with a specific apparatus, which is positioned very near to the waypoint.

More specifically, fans should face their Genshin Impact characters to the northeast and climb one of the small staircases to exit the altar. Players should then walk a few paces forward to encounter a rotating mechanism that has a glowing cube at its center. This mechanism is the key to activating the secret message at the altar in the Serpent’s Heart, and fans should interact with it to switch to Evernight.

This action will cause several translucent blue gateways to appear around the perimeter of the altar that players were just standing within, and they should pass through any one of those gateways in order to return to the previous waypoint. Upon returning to this location, gacha game fans will find that they can now interact with it, and that is precisely what they should do. Players will then be treated to a short cutscene, and they will have a new quest objective when it reaches its conclusion.

For those players that are curious, that new quest objective is to solve the riddle at the altar in the Serpent’s Head in Genshin Impact. As some fans may expect, the solution to that riddle is directly connected to the secret message that is revealed by the altar, with the notations that appear on the ground being very important. Players that spend some time with those notations but are still stuck on the puzzle may ultimately want to turn their attention to another guide.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
