Genshin Impact: Continue the Pursuit (Farewell to the Past)

To continue the pursuit in Farewell to the Past, Genshin Impact players simply need to follow a trail of blue streaks that lead to an alcove on the beach to the southwest. The first of those streaks are on the southwest edge of the preliminary search area, right next to three beacons, and players will receive an updated waypoint as they approach them. Fans should then keep walking to the southwest, and they will encounter another set of streaks as they approach a ledge that overlooks the aforementioned beach.

Players should now jump from that ledge, use their Wind Gliders in Genshin Impact to travel to the beach that is below, and follow the path in a southwestwardly direction until they reach the alcove. While this is a fairly straightforward process, the following video showcases the exact path that fans must take on the beach, and it should resolve any lingering questions that players may have about continuing the pursuit.

As players enter the alcove, they will be treated to a short cutscene, and the Farewell to the Past quest objective will be updated when it reaches its conclusion. There should be no confusion about how to address this new objective, though, as it is exceedingly clear in its instruction. In fact, all the objectives that come after the “continue the pursuit” task are quite simple to undertake, aside from one that is issued near this Genshin Impact quest’s midpoint.

For those players that are curious about this other confusing objective, it centers around visiting the cave that is below the Grand Narukami Shrine. While a waypoint will lead fans directly to this location, the complication comes from the barrier that will prevent them from entering the cave. Fortunately, players can summon an Electrogranum in Genshin Impact on the small floating island that is just above the cave entrance, and it will allow them to bypass the barrier and continue progressing the Farewell to the Past quest.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
