An essential ingredient for leveling up the Frostbearing Tree, Crimson Agate is a necessity for all Genshin Impact players who want to get their hands on the Warming Bottle, which helps to negate the new Sheer Cold status effect. However, Dragonspine is a large area to search through, and many of the Crimson Agate deposits are tucked away in areas that are either tough to discover, or challenging to access.

To retrieve Crimson Agate #10180, players will need to locate the gated cell at the east end of Dragonspine’s peak, Skyfrost Nail, which can be accessed during the “In the Mountains” World Quest. There is a small, ice-covered mechanism to the left of the gate (when facing toward the cell) that can be uncovered with a Pyro character. Once freed, players will need to start the mechanism.
After this mechanism has been started, players should make their way to the southwestern edge of Skyfrost Nail. Here, players will find a Ruin Grader sitting beside a deposit of Scarlet Quartz. Attack the deposit (the Ruin Grader should remain inactive) and retrieve the Scarlet Quartz. Once retrieved, players will notice that their character is surrounded with a red aura - it’s vital that players return to the gated cell quickly, as they will need this aura to uncover the next mechanism. It’s advisable for players to sprint back to the cell, while ignoring the new enemies they may encounter.
Immediately to the left of the gate rests a mound of magical ice that cannot be melted with a Pyro character. Instead, players must simply attack the ice while surrounded by the Scarlet Quartz aura. Once the ice has been removed, players will notice another mechanism that must be started. Doing so will cause the gate to rise, granting access to a Common Chest and a Precious Chest. Players may find it obvious that the Precious Chest, being enveloped in a red aura itself, is the one that holds their quarry.
With this source of Crimson Agate depleted, players can now set about locating and recovering the other deposits scattered around Dragonspine. Once players have obtained enough, they can level the Frostbearing Tree in order to access the slew of rewards it has to offer.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC and PS4, and is in development for Nintendo Switch and PS5.
