While players adventuring across Liyue and Mondstadt will likely be encountering powerful Elite Bosses and challenging Domains, one of the various Genshin Impact challenges consists of floating collectable emblems, or “oculi.” The game currently allows players to gather either Anemoculi or Geoculi depending on which region they’re exploring, though Dragonspine’s Crimson Agate are similar in concept.

Since Liyue is associated with the Geo Element, players can find Geoculi scattered throughout its landscapes rather than the Anemoculi found in Mondstadt. Like an Anemoculus, a Geoculus can be offered to Statues of Seven, though only to those in the Liyue region. Once a players offer enough Geoculi to Liyue’s Statues of Seven, they will level up, offering the player rewards ranging from Primogems to experience.
Travelers hoping to find some Geoculi will simply want to explore every corner of Liyue with an eye on their minimaps. Whenever a player is near a Geoculus, a small icon will appear on their maps denoting its exact location. Generally speaking, they’re hidden everywhere - floating high across canyons, atop mountains, and in secret crevices. Players are also welcome to take advantage of Geoculus Resonance Stones, which can be crafted at an Alchemy station. This one-time use gadget’s diagram is unlocked when a player reaches Reputation Level 2 in Liyue. Using one will allow the player to track the nearest Geoculus.
Geoculus Resonance Stones can be crafted indefinitely, but players will need five Cor Lapis, five Glaze Lilies, and one Crystal Chunk every time. Fortunately, both Cor Lapis and the Glaze Lily are Liyue Local Specialties, so they will not only be easy to find throughout the region, but also count towards the weekly Liyue Local Specialty challenge.
Whereas the game only features 60 or so Anemoculi, there are 131 Geoculi in Genshin Impact. This opens lots of treasure hunting, and many potential level-up rewards from Liyue’s Statues of Seven. Travelers can even earn useful items like Acquaint Fates by leveling up Statues of Seven, so the challenge should be worth it. A player needs only touch a Geoculus to claim it; rarely is there an actual challenge involve past locating them.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
