Jewelry Soup is a food item in Genshin Impact that allows players the ability to temporarily increase their party’s defensive skills for 300 seconds. As with other cookable dishes in the game, the rise in defense is dependent upon the quality of the cooked dish. When consuming Suspicious, Normal, or Delicious Jewelry Soup a player can increase their defense by 88, 107, or 126 respectively. Unfortunately, this perk cannot be used for other visiting parties or friends while in Co-Op mode.

Prior to unlocking its recipe, players are able to find Jewelry Soup in two locations. The first would be purchasing the dish (1,117 Mora) from Harris in the Dragonspine Adventurer Camp located near the base of the snowy mountain. He is a NCP with multiple dishes available to travelers. Although, the shop refreshes often so be sure to check it out. Talking to Harris can also unlock the “Ah, Fresh Meat” quest. This mission rewards the player with the recipe for Goulash, which temporarily slows down the rate of Sheer Cold.
Another variation of the soup was available to players during the Lantern Rite Festival event. During the celebration, players were able to purchase festival versions of normal Liyue and Mondstadt foods from a street food vendor, including a special Lantern Rite Special Jewelry Soup. While the name alludes to a certain uniqueness present in the dish, the soup offers the same effect as Delicious Jewelry Soup.
Genshin players can learn to cook Jewelry soup themselves after obtaining the soup’s recipe from completing the “Custodian of the Clouds” quest. This mission is available during Chapter 1, Act 1 of the Archon Quests. To complete the quest, players must travel to the top of Mt. Aocang. There, players will also notice a dinner table set for three located in the middle of a small lake. Approach the table to start the cutscene. Afterward, Paimon will suggest making a food offering to get Cloud Retainer’s attention.
There are a few stoves located around the lake from previous offerings to the adepti. While investigating each camp, players will discover the recipes for Matsutake Meat Rolls, Mora Meat, and Jewelry Soup. Prepare each dish and place them on the table. This will attract the attention of Cloud Retainer, lowering her barrier, and allowing entrance into her domain. Enter the cave to continue the quest.
