Genshin Impact: How to Unlock Qiqi

To put things simply, the way to obtain Qiqi in Genshin Impact is to participate in the game’s Gacha system and Wish for her. However, Qiqi’s 5-star rarity means that it is extremely unlikely that a fan will ever unlock her through Wishes even if they make a ton of them. This is because the base chance for a Wish to award a 5-star character or weapon in Genshin Impact is just 0.6%, which is obviously very low.

Moreover, there are a number of other 5-star items that players can unlock by making Wishes in Genshin Impact. As such, even if a fan is fortunate enough to hit that 0.6%, there is certainly no guarantee that they will earn Qiqi. Instead, they might unlock another 5-star character like Diluc or a 5-star weapon like the Skyward Harp, and while these are exceptional pulls, they do little for those players that have their hearts set on Qiqi.

With that established, it is worth mentioning that a future banner is likely to temporarily boost the drop rate for Qiqi. While such a banner has not been officially confirmed at the time of writing, the currently-available Ballad in Goblets banner, which makes it slightly easier to unlock Venti in Genshin Impact, seems to suggest that there will be one down the line. Thus, players that really want to unlock Qiqi may be well served by saving their Wishes for the time being.

Even if a Qiqi-focused banner does come up, though, she will still be exceedingly rare, and players are certainly not guaranteed to walk away from the event with this character. It is thus advisable to try to be open to a wide variety of weapons and characters that can be unlocked through Wishes, and while maintaining that approach can prove to be challenging at times, it helps to make navigating Genshin Impact’s Gacaha system less disappointing overall.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, and later on Switch.
