Genshin Impact: How to Get Venti
To begin, the only way to unlock Venti in Genshin Impact at the time of writing is to Wish for him. As many players will know, Wishes are purchased with Intertwined Fates or Acquaint Fates, which can be bought with Primogems, and they serve as the foundation of the game’s gacha mechanic. That said, it is certainly not guaranteed that players will unlock Venti when they Wish for him, and, in fact, the chance that they will is extremely low.

More specifically, there is a 0.6% chance that a player will unlock a 5-star character like Venti when Wishing on the Ballad in Goblets banner. Furthermore, even if a player is lucky enough to unlock a 5-star character, it is possible that they will receive someone like Diluc or Mona instead of Venti. This means that a tremendous number of Wishes could be made without ever unlocking a specific character, and even those players that heavily engage with Genshin Impact’s microtransactions are certainly not guaranteed to receive a Venti.
As such, fans should be sure to manage their expectations when making Wishes in Genshin Impact, as it is quite unlikely that they will ever unlock any one specific 5-star character. Even 4-star items are quite rare, appearing at a rate of around 5%, and while this is undoubtedly a tremendous jump from the 0.6% chance attached to 5-star items, fans should still be cognizant of the fact that they are not likely to receive characters from this category.
To note, the Wish system does have a mechanic in place that guarantees that a player will receive a 5-star item at least once every 90 Wishes. Indeed, if a Genshin Impact fan has not unlocked something of 5-star rarity after 89 Wishes, they can rest assured that they will obtain one on their next Wish. However, this is certainly not guaranteed to be Venti, or even a character for that matter, and players should thus not expect this mercy rule to provide a great deal of help in this matter.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, and PS4, and later on Switch.
