Originally, the place was called Byakuyakoku. The name was later changed after the ancient people were lifted to the surface and named the new island “Sangonomiya.” Before Orobashi brought the people away from the depths, the Serpent defeated the Dragonheir of Enkanomiya and sealed it away.

However, thousands of years later, the region below begins to corrupt the land of Watatsumi. Not only will the pink island be turned into a desert, but there will also be a threat of the Dragonheir, if the seal ever breaks. Because of this, the Shrine Maidens have been attempting to open the way to Enkanomiya. Afterward, a hero with a clear heart must enter and finish the trials within to stop the corruption. Obviously, the “hero with a clear heart” is no other than Genshin Impact Travelers. For them to assist with this issue, they must first unlock Enkanomiya.
How To Unlock Enkanomiya In Genshin Impact
There are a few requirements to unlock Enkanomiya in Genshin Impact:
Minimum Adventure Rank 30 Finish Chapter II: Act III - Omnipresence Over Mortals (Archon Quest) Complete The Moon-Bathed Deep World Quest Follow The Still Water’s Flow World Quest
To unlock Enkanomiya, of course, players have to first open Inazuma. For that, they need to be at least Adventure Rank 30. Then, follow the Archon Quest until the Traveler defeats Ei and ends the Vision Hunt Decree.
After that, go to Watatsumi and obtain the Key to the Moon-Bathed Deep from The Moon-Bathed Deep World Quest. This item will later be used in the follow-up quest, The Still Water’s Flow.
After players obtain the Key Sigils and break the seals, the portal to Enkanomiya will open. They have to jump into the whirlpool to enter the place. Then, a loading screen will appear. Make sure to activate the gliding mode after the loading ended. Otherwise, players may die from fall damage.
The Legacy Of Enkanomiya
While the current people of Watatsumi may never have seen Enkanomiya, some people choose to preserve existing ancient traditions. For example, Granny Komaki, an elder who resides in Borou Village, still practices the Spiritherbs Fortune-telling. When players first visit the Grandma, she will ask them to take care of the Spiritherbs. After that, Granny Komaki will tell their fortune once a day for five days. Following this hidden quest will lead to the As You Wish achievement in Genshin Impact.
While the elder’s divination may be accurate most of the time, sadly, the younger generations choose to not meddle in this tradition and instead stick to simple facts and theories. Hopefully, Traveler’s visit to Enkanomiya will broaden the available knowledge of the ancient area. Maybe then, the young people too will take interest in old traditions.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
