Starshrooms are one of the many new things Genshin Impact Travelers can discover down in the Underground Chasm. At one point in the game, around The Glowing Narrows, players can even come across the Great Mushroom’s Place. This gigantic mushroom, Xamaran, says that it hails from Sumeru. It now lives in the Underground Chasm protecting its fungi kin from the erosion that’s slowly creeping into the area. North of Xamaran’s resting place, Travelers can find many Starshrooms around the Underground Waterway. This area is also where players can start Khedive’s Hydrological Investigation in The Chasm Quest.

How To Get The Hydrological Investigation In The Chasm Quest In Genshin Impact
To get the Hydrological Investigation in The Chasm Quest in Genshin Impact, players must first catch a fish using the fishing mini-game. A viable spot to fish in The Chasm can be found in the Underground Waterway area. It is highly recommended to first defeat the nearby Shadowy Husk so that the protagonist won’t get interrupted while angling. Beating this enemy for the first time will also grant players the Orb of the Blue Depths in Genshin Impact.
Once Travelers obtain the Strange Object, they should speak to Khedive at the explorer’s camp.
The researcher will ask players to place the Strange Object near the water. After this happens, they should go to the designated spot and place the item as requested.
Once it’s in place, Travelers will need to hit the object with a Hydro attack. Doing so will cause a Hydro Geovishap to spawn, which players should defeat before reporting back to Khedive.
After finishing the task, the researcher will say that the Strange Object attracts the attention of some Hydro creatures. As it grows in The Chasm’s environment, it is infused with intense Hydro energy, which causes the Hydro creatures to seek it out. Even so, the item itself is not that significant.
Finishing the Hydrological Investigation In The Chasm Quest in Genshin Impact grants players 30 Primogems and a hefty 90,000 Mora.
If Travelers have finished three of Khedive’s quests in The Chasm (Hydrological, Paleontological, and Mycological Investigations), they will also earn the Of the Human Heart Many Essays Written Genshin Impact Achievement. This Achievement rewards players with five additional Primogems.
The researcher will also give players an Academia Recommendation Letter, which he says will be useful when the protagonist visits the land of Sumeru.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
