RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Noelle
Many Genshin Impact players choose to bench Noelle afterward, but, over time, she slowly resurfaces into the list of characters players would level up next. When this happens, Travelers are likely adept enough to know what to do with their Noelle. Nevertheless, the following mistakes are often still made by players.
6 Not Having A Battery
Whether as a healer or main DPS, Noelle highly relies on her Elemental Burst. For healing, C1 Noelle only has a 50% chance to heal when using her non-Geo hits, while when her Elemental Burst is active, she’s guaranteed to heal on each hit (as long as her shield is intact). For a main DPS, Noelle should be designed to have full uptime on her Elemental Burst as her Physical hits are not a reliable source of damage.

However, despite this reliance, Noelle produces zero Elemental Particles through her Elemental Skill. This means she desperately needs units that can help her recharge her Elemental Burst. The best Genshin Impact Batteries for Noelle include Geo Traveler, Ningguang, and Raiden Shogun.
5 Not Assigning Noelle To One Role
As a jack-of-all-trades and master of none, Noelle can take on several roles, but she can’t do them all at once. Trying to make Noelle a little bit of everything will only make her seem underwhelming. This is because each role requires players to focus on different Genshin Impact stats.
For example, healer Noelle performs better with Healing Bonus Circlet than DEF Circlet, but using a Healing Bonus artifact means the Favonius Maid will have less DEF, which will lower her shield’s HP. Therefore, Genshin Impact travelers should know exactly what they want from their Noelle. This way, she can focus on a single role and do her best in it.
4 Using Noelle As A DPS Before C6
Noelle should never be used as a main DPS before reaching her C6. At full Genshin Impact Constellation, Noelle can deal enough damage to be acceptable. Before then, however, it’d be tremendously difficult for her to keep up with dedicated damage dealers. This is thanks to the grand effect granted by her C6, which sees Noelle gain ATK based on 50% of her DEF.

This allows players to build Noelle on as much DEF as possible without having to lose her DPS count. Each time the Favonius Maid defeats an opponent when her Burst is active, she will also prolong the Burst’s duration by 1s, for a maximum of 10s. This means at maximum, Noelle can have 25s of Geo infusion with only 15s cooldown.
3 Prioritizing ATK Over DEF
If players insist on using Noelle as a main DPS before reaching C6, then ATK is the better option when compared to DEF. That said, after getting a full Genshin Impact Constellation, DEF should definitely be prioritized over ATK.
ATK stat will still be used by the Favonius Maid, but the 50% DEF to ATK conversion from her C6 pushes DEF to become the better main stat. Additionally, ATK will do nothing for the rest of Noelle’s kits, namely her shield and healing. Meanwhile, using DEF will make Noelle better in all of her abilities.
2 Using The Wrong Support For DPS Noelle
Noelle may be a support, but if Travelers are using her as a main DPS, then she’ll need her own line of dedicated support. The Favonius Maid will require a Genshin Impact Battery and a buffer. For buffers, people typically use Bennett, but the Pyro Adventurer enhances ATK, a stat that’s less important for Noelle.

To bump Noelle’s DEF, players can instead use Genshin Impact Gorou. The Watatsumi General will also boost Geo DMG, Geo Crit DMG, and trigger the Geo Resonance with Noelle. Other than that, Yun Jin is also a great support for the Favonius Maid. Even though using Noelle’s Charged Attack may be tempting, bringing Yun Jin allows the Knight of Favonius Trainee to hit like a truck with her Normal Attack.
1 Not Knowing How Her Healing Works
There are many healing mechanics in Genshin Impact. Some are simple, while others are a bit more complicated. Qiqi is one example of a healer that has multiple mechanics in her healing. First, her Elemental Skill heals the active character periodically. Second, when her Skill is active, Qiqi’s Normal and Charged Attack will heal the whole team.
When it comes to Qiqi’s ultimate, she will mark enemies with a Fortune-Preserving Talisman. Any character that attacks a marked enemy will heal a set amount of HP. Noelle, on the other hand, can heal in these specific conditions:
Noelle’s shield must be present, and she has to hit enemies with Normal or Charged Attack Noelle has a 50% chance to heal without her Elemental Burst C1 Noelle is guaranteed to heal with her Burst active Using Charged Attack is the most effective way to heal as it hits faster
Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
