For example, the mistakes players would make when using Tighnari has a lot to do with this combo and how he performs with the new Dendro Elemental Reactions in Genshin Impact. Here are some examples of things players should keep in mind.
7 Not Knowing How Quicken, Spread, And Aggravate Works
There are many new reactions introduced with Sumeru’s release, but the star of Dendro Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact would be Quicken, a debuff granted on an enemy when Electro and Dendro meet. This debuff will then stay on the enemy for a few seconds, allowing any Electro or Dendro hits to deal Aggravate or Spread (respectively) without the need to apply Dendro or Electro again.
However, while the debuff persists on the enemy without needing the two Elements to be present, the Quicken effect can be removed if the enemy is hit by Hydro or Pyro. While the rest of the Genshin Impact Elements, Cryo, Geo, and Anemo will not affect it. Because of this, players who wish to play with Quicken should not have Hydro or Pyro characters on the team.
6 Not Playing Tighnari In A Quicken/Spread Team Composition
Tighnari’s best team comps in Genshin Impact are ones that rely on Quicken and Spread. Spread Elemental Reaction will increase the damage of Dendro hits by giving a flat DMG bonus, similar to Yun Jin or Shenhe’s buff.

The DPS difference with and without Spread reaction is insanely apparent for Tighnari. Players will easily notice a 100% damage increase simply by ensuring Tighnari’s hits always have access to the Spread Elemental Reaction. Because of this, it’s crucial to bring Electro characters into Tighnari’s party.
5 Underestimating Elemental Mastery On Tighnari
Since Tighnari’s damage increases significantly with Spread reaction, players should consider using Elemental Mastery Timepiece on Tighnari instead of ATK. Not only for a higher Spread DMG bonus, but Elemental Mastery is also great for other aspects of his kit, where he gains 0.06% Charged Attack and Elemental Burst DMG for every point of his Elemental Mastery. If players are using Hunter’s Path in Genshin Impact, Elemental Mastery becomes even more useful.
Nevertheless, it’s not a good idea to use Elemental Mastery on the rest of the artifact pieces. Players should still use Dendro DMG Goblet and Critical Circlet. The reason behind this is simple: the flat DMG bonus granted by Spread will be enhanced by Dendro DMG Bonus and Critical DMG stat, so losing these artifact main stat is not worth it.
4 Not Using Elemental Skill Before Using Charged Attack
Words on the street talk of how similar Tighnari is to the famed Genshin Impact Ganyu, but unfortunately, this strays far from the truth. Tighnari is not a Dendro Ganyu. Even though both characters rely on their Charged Attack instead of Normal Attack, Tighnari’s Charged Attack takes far longer to fully charge. This makes him an ineffective main DPS.

Luckily, players can use his Charged Attack without having to wait for charging time. To do so, simply use his Elemental Skill, and enjoy the next three Charged Attacks without any charge time.
3 Using Tighnari As The Main DPS
Tighnari’s kit demands him to be played as a quick-swap unit. His rotation would be something like: Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > 3x Charged Attack. His Charged Attack should only be three times because his Skill allows Tighnari to shoot his next three Charged Attacks without charging time. Without this effect, Tighnari’s Charged Attack would take way too long to charge, causing wasted DPS on the battlefield.
After doing his combo, players should move on to the next Genshin Impact character until Tighnari’s Elemental Skill is ready again.
2 Waiting For Gilded Dreams For Tighnari
4pc Gilded Dreams is indeed the best artifact set for Tighnari, but considering players will have to farm for a while to get a decent set, benching Tighnari seems like a sensible thing to do. Luckily, people don’t have to wait for Gilded Dreams to use Tighnari. Although this artifact set is indeed the best for him, players likely have a decent set of his second-best artifact, Wanderer’s Troupe.

4pc Wanderer’s Troupe performs greatly on Tighnari, so until players get a decent Gilded Dreams set, they can settle for this artifact.
1 Upgrading The Wrong Talent
Since Tighnari gives off a “Ganyu” vibe in Genshin Impact, players may unconsciously prioritize his Charged Attack when upgrading Tighnari’s talent while ignoring the rest of it. In truth, since the Forest Ranger is a great quick-swap unit, his Elemental Burst talent level is equally important as his Charged Attack, especially if players can maintain 100% uptime. Fortunately, maintaining Tighnari at full Energy should be easy, considering his ultimate only needs 40 Energy.
In summary, Tighnari’s talent level-up priority is:
Charged Attack = Elemental Burst Elemental Skill
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
