Leaks and rumors are very common in Genshin Impact, and they usually create hype around characters months before their official release. One of those characters is certainly Scaramouche, who has been a part of the game’s story for a very long time. The description for the new Hust of Opulent Dreams artifact set has revealed a lot of new information about this unusual character.
Scaramouche first appears as an unknown character during the quest “The Crisis Deepens” where he is introduced as a “vagrant from Inazuma.” At first, he seemed to be a friendly character curious about the Traveler’s identity before Mona sensed his true intent and arranged an escape. The mystique surrounding this character leads many players to believe that he is one of the end-game villains. However, there is a chance that he could have a change of heart and become a good guy just like it was the case with one of the fan-favorite characters Childe.
The leak reveals that he was originally made to be the Electro Archon Gnosis carrier, the same Gnosis that Raiden Shogun has. What we currently know about Scaramouche is that he returned to Inazuma and met with Signora. This was followed by the events that played out in the 2.1 Archon quest. There are not leaks hinting about his release date but Scaramouche is definitely expected to be one of the upcoming Genshin Impact characters.
Developer miHoYo’s official announcement confirmed Shenhe and Yun Jin as the new Genshin Impact characters which means that Scaramouche will not be a part of Version 2.4 which should arrive around January 5, 2022. The new update could also bring a brand new Genshin Impact region which, according to multiple leaks, is either Chasm or Enkanomiya.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
