Qiqi is also one of five 5-star characters available on Genshin Impact’s standard banner, leaving a lot of players with a character that needs ascensions and talent upgrades in order to really shine. Here is everything players will need in order to ascend Qiqi.
Leveling Materials
Like every character before and after her, Qiqi will require a certain amount of Mora and EXP to level up. This amount is the same with every character in Genshin Impact, meaning that players will need to prepare thoroughly to ensure they have enough resources to level up their characters. Qiqi requires the following items to level up:
Leveling Qiqi all the way to max level will also require a lot of EXP, so players should prepare items for this ahead of time. Here is one efficient combination of EXP materials:
Qiqi Ascension Items
In addition to leveling up, players will also need to ascend Qiqi to reach max level. To do this, they’ll need to collect a variety of different materials found around Liyue. Here is everything players will need to fully ascend Qiqi:
Gemstones - Shivada Jade
Depending on the character’s element, they’ll need different gemstones to ascend. Qiqi will need Shivada Jade for each ascension. Shivada Jade can be obtained by defeating the following: the Cryo Regisvine, Cryo Hypostasis, Primo Vishap, Maguu Kenki, Bathysmal Vishap Herd.
They can also be received after completing the Wolf of the North, Golden House, and Azhdaha’s weekly domain, as well as from the Souvenir Shop.
Enemy Drop - Scroll
Unlike many of Qiqi’s other ascension materials, her enemy drop is one of the easiest to obtain in large numbers. Qiqi uses Scrolls, which can be obtained from any type of Samachurl.

Players can expect to collect a lot of these naturally just by playing the game. For those looking to speed up the process though, Stormterror’s Lair is a good place to fight a lot of Samachurls.
Boss Drop - Hoarfrost Core
Every character requires a boss drop to ascend, which often proves to be one of the more difficult items to collect. Luckily for Qiqi users, she needs Hoarfrost Cores to ascend. Players can collect Hoarfrost Cores by defeating the Cryo Regisvine.
Local Specialty - Violetgrass
One of the most difficult parts of ascending Qiqi is the need for Violetgrass. The most difficult local specialty to find for some players, Violetgrass can be found sparsely on the side of cliff sides in Liyue, especially in the mountainous west. They can also be bought from Herbalist Gui and Verr Goldet.
Qiqi Talent Materials
In addition to leveling up, players will also want to upgrade Qiqi’s talents. These will require unique items different from the ones used for ascensions, including talent books, trounce materials, and Crowns of Insight.
Talent Books - Prosperity
Qiqi represents the prosperity of Liyue and the Gift of the Adepti, which is largely the reason for her using Books of Prosperity for her talent upgrades. Players can obtain Books of Prosperity from the Taishan Mansion domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Trounce Materials/Crowns
After level 6, players will also need to collect Trounce Materials to upgrade Qiqi’s talents. She uses Tails of Boreas, which can be obtained from the Wolf of the North domain in Wolvendom.
In addition, Qiqi will require Crowns of Insight to reach max levels in her talents. Each character can use a talent of three Crowns of Insight, one for each talent. These can be obtained from the Frostbearing Tree, Sacred Sakura, and as a reward from in-game events.
