Just recently, the 2.1 update arrived in Genshin Impact and while it added even more characters like the Raiden Shogun, equipment, new locations, and the Moonchase Festival event, players have already seemingly grown attached to the fishing minigame. While the activity is meant to be relaxing and offer players a break from the exploration and combat, fishing in Genshin Impact actually offers players numerous rewards for catching certain types.

In fact, one of the best items that can be gained from fishing is a polearm known as The Catch. However, acquiring the weapon will involve finding very specific fish including the Raimei Angelfish. Here’s where players can find that elusive fish.
Raimei Angelfish Location
Unlike the other required fish needed for The Catch, the Raimei Angelfish can only be found in one spot. Players will want to head to a shipwreck located directly south of the island that houses the Kujou Encampment. However, one thing to keep in mind is that these fish only spawn in the game world between the hours of 18:00 and 6:00. Going there outside of these hours will leave players empty handed.
Bait to Use
In addition to checking the in-game time, players will also need to bring the False Worm bait. Thankfully, earning this bait isn’t too difficult as the blueprint for it can be earned at the Fishing Association in Mondstadt. Essentially, speak to the representative there and trade them three Medeka fish, which can be found in nearly every fishing location.
Total Raimei Angelfish Needed for The Catch
With the correct bait and time, players will be able to snag the ellusive Raimei Angelfish inside of Genshin Impact. To initially unlock The Catch, players will need to fish up six Raimei Angelfish, along with the other 20 Golden Koi and 20 Rusty Koi. The polearm weapon is a great weapon for characters like Zhongli, Xingliang, and the newly released Raiden Shogun, especially for those who don’t have access to the 5-star Engulfing Lightning Polearm.
However, the 6 Raimei Angelfish isn’t the end. In order to refine The Catch, players will need an additional three each time. Refining weapons generally makes them stronger, in this case increasing the elemental burst damage and critical rate on the weapon. With six refinement levels, players will need to have 18 Raimei Angelfish in total.
Genshin Impact is free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Switch version is in development.
