Like the previous Acts in the Midsummer Island Adventure event, players must complete a brief story quest before they are able to unlock the Samuari Sighted event. In the world quest players will be tasked with interacting with numerous Genshin Impact characters across the Golden Apple Archipelago before they are finally able to awaken Maguu Kenki.

In order to unlock all of the rewards for the event, there are several challenges that players must complete when facing the boss. These challenges include; Defeating Maguu Kenki 3 times, Defeating Maguu Kenki without triggering his mask parry, Defeating Maguu Kenki without being hit by his phantom attacks, and Defeating Maguu Kenki without being hit by his mask attacks.
After completing the Act 3 story quest, players will face Maguu Kenki for the first time, however, subsequent battles against the boss will cost players 50 original resin in order to claim the rewards from the fight. While players can challenge and defeat Maguu Kenki without claiming the rewards, the rewards for defeating the boss include the Marionette Core, which is a level ascension material for the upcoming 5-star Anemo character Kazuha.
One of the main methods that players can avoid taking damage from Maguu Kenki’s mask or phantom attacks is by making sure one party member is a shield user. Because of the speed of Maguu Kenki’s attacks, sometimes it can be extremely difficult to avoid the boss’s various abilities. However, if players make sure they are consistently buffed with a shield throughout the fight, they can easily avoid taking unnecessary damage and have a much better chance at unlocking the damage-specific challenges.
Players will also want to make sure that they avoid using ranged attacks, as this will trigger the boss’s mask parry and void one of the available challenges. If players happen to have a high-DPS ranged user in their party, they should only attack the boss while he is in the middle of one of his attack animations as this will not trigger the parry.
After completing all of the challenges in the Samurai Sighted event, players will unlock 120,000 mora, 90 primogems, and 6 heroes wit. Players should also note that because the Golden Apple Archipelago region is a limited-time event, the boss’s location will no longer be available after the event expires. However, miHoYo has gone on record and stated that any character-specific ascension materials that are obtained through the event will still be available after it has concluded.
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
