Additionally, Sand Grease Pupa serves as an Ascension material for Alhaitham alongside other resources such as Pseudo-Stamens, Rich Red Brocade, and Nagadus Emerald in Genshin Impact. Leveling up Alhaitham requires 168 Sand Grease Pupa, so here are some of their locations to make it easier.

Sand Grease Pupa Location In Genshin Impact
There are around 70 Sand Grease Pupa all over the map, and they are quite easy to fetch as most of them are located nearby a Teleport Waypoint in Genshin Impact. The husk is located in the current locations:
Tanit Camps The Temples Forsaken Wadi Al-Majuj Wounded Shin Valley The Sands of Three Canals Wenut Tunnels
Some Genshin Impact characters can facilitate the resource harvest journey, such as Nahida, and Tighnari. Using Nahida’s Elemental Skill, players can collect Sand Grease Pupa even from a distance, while Tighnari’s passive skill marks any Sumeru resource location on the map with a hand icon.
Like other Ascension materials, Sand Grease Pupa respawns after 48 hours. So obtaining 168 Pupas will require players to raid two other worlds if they wish to do it in one day.
Tanit Camps
Tanit Camps have six Sand Grease Pupa. To acquire them, players need to teleport to the Desert of Hadramaveth’s Statue of Seven. Travel through a few Eremites and collect the Sand Grease Pupa, but be careful because there is a Wenut underneath the sands.
The Temples Forsaken
There are five Sand Grease Pupa in the Temples Forsaken. To get them, players should fast travel to the area’s nearby Teleport Waypoint and climb the nearby hill.
Wadi Al-Majuj
Eight Sand Grease Pupa are in Wadi Al-Majuj. To collect them, teleport to the nearby Waypoint in Genshin Impact and leap to the cliff in front of it, but be careful as a Wenut Attacker lurks beneath the sand.
Wounded Shin Valley
Fast travel to Wounded Shin Valley Teleportation Waypoint, then climb the mountain in front of it to collect five Sand Grease Pupa in Genshin Impact. Upon climbing this Valley mountain, players will be welcomed by a bunch of Fungi.
The Sands of Three Canals
In order to obtain five Sand Grease Pupa, fast travel to the nearest Waypoint of Mt. Damavand and walk straight in its direction until a small camp appears. This area has a few Elite Enemies such as the Primal Construct, so having a good Genshin Impact team composition is important.
Wenut Tunnels
Finding the rest of the 45 Sand Grease Pupa can be quite difficult as they are located underground with web-like Tunnels connecting the desert’s areas together. To get the rest of the Sand Grease Pupa, players should:
Teleport to the Waypoint of Passage of Ghouls. Descend all the way between the cliff’s gap to collect two Sand Grease Pupa. In the tunnel leading to the cave and inside the cave, travelers will find 12 Sand Grease Pupa. Head toward the Wenut Tunnels’ Teleport Waypoint and follow along the underground passage to acquire 18 Sand Grease Pupa. Continue the journey toward The Sands of Al-Azif, to collect an extra four Sand Grease Pupa. Go back, then take the Dunes Tunnel. Investigating the Rock Pile in the Tunnel will break the ground beneath players’ feet. Descend all the way down the hole. Collect the 21 Sand Grease Pupa inside the hole’s Tunnels.
It should be noted that the Wenut Tunnels are swarmed with all kinds of enemies, so it’s best for players to come prepared.
