With its fluorescent blue color, Sea Ganoderma can be easily spotted when traversing the new region. While the plant does not have any current uses in-game, the Sea Ganoderma is a character ascension material that is required for the upcoming Kazuha banner. In total, players will require 168 Sea Ganoderma in order to level Kazuha from 0-90. Because there is a limited number of Sea Ganoderma spawns on the Archipelago map, this will require multiple farming runs in order to obtain all the necessary ascension materials.

Updated on February 17, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: While the availability of the Golden Apple Archipelago may not last, Sea Ganoderma remains an obtainable local specialty in Genshin Impact. Now, the blue plant can be found all over the shallow waters of Inazuma. With the release of Yae Miko in Version 2.6, Sea Ganoderma becomes a desirable resource once more.
According to the Teyvat Interactive Map, there are 155 plants that can be collected throughout the region, and five in Enkanomiya. Since players will need 168 to fully ascend a character, they either have to wait for the item to respawn, or raid another Traveler’s world. Alternatively, every three days, five Sea Ganoderma can be purchased from Obata in Ritou, Inazuma.
Sea Ganoderma Locations in Inazuma
In Inazuma, Sea Ganoderma can be found on every available island, including Enkanomiya. In Enkanomiya, five Sea Ganoderma can be found in the watery area of Evernight Temple, near the west-most Teleport Waypoint. As for the rest of the locations, players can refer to the images below.
Narukami Island
In Narukami Island, there are 22 Sea Ganoderma available. Some of these require players to utilize their Waverider and reach the secluded islands.
Kannazuka Island
Meanwhile, in Kannazuka, most of the Sea Ganoderma can be found around Takashi’s Conch home, while some others grow around the military encampment.
Watatsumi Island
Sea Ganoderma in Watatsumi are spread throughout the area, but none of them are complex to access, unlike the ones in Narukami. Players can also go to Fort Mumei for some more of the resources.
Seirai Island
Some Sea Ganoderma in Seirai are far from Teleport Waypoints, but many can be collected easily. To reach the faraway islands, players can use the Teleport Waypoint near the Genshin Impact Thunder Manifestation boss. As it’s located on a very high spot, it allows people to effortlessly glide to islands around Seirai.
Tsurumi Island
There aren’t many Sea Ganoderma in Tsurumi, but they’re all easily obtainable, so players shouldn’t miss out on this location.
Sea Ganoderma Locations in Golden Apple Archipelago
Note: Golden Apple Archipelago is only available in Version 1.6, so this area is currently inaccessible.
The Sea Ganoderma spawns operate similar to the Starconch locations in Liyue and can be found along the shores of the Archipelago islands and nested inside shallow reefs. Players should note that several of these spawn locations are found adjacent to enemy camps, so players should be prepared to fight any Hilichurls in their way.
In the Golden Apple Archipelago there are a total of 57 Sea Ganoderma that can be farmed in a single run. This will require players to complete 3 runs if they want to obtain the maximum amount required for Kazuha’s ascension.
Players should note that like other plants in Mondstadt and Liyue, the respawn rate for Sea Ganoderma is between 2 and 3 days. As a result, players will want to carefully plan their farming so that they have the required amount before the Golden Apple Archipelago region is no longer available.
It should be noted that miHoYo has addressed the concerns of many fans by stating that all of the newly added materials available in the Golden Apple Archipelago will still be available after the region is no longer accessible. This likely means that with the upcoming Inazuma expansion fast approaching, that Sea Ganoderma and Marionette Cores will be available in the new region.
Due to the layout of the Golden Apple Archipelago, several of the Sea Ganoderma farming locations can be difficult to obtain and will require the player to use their Waveriders to travel long distances. Because of this map layout, for players that are not planning to roll on the Kazuha banner on day 1, it is recommended to wait for the material to be added in the Inazuma update as it is likely that it will be considerably easier to farm.
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
