RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things You Didn’t Know About Cryo
With an interesting Cryo sprint, some of the best Cryo applications in the game, and great crowd attacks, Ayaka has brought a completely new style of combat. Naturally, many aren’t sure the best way to build Ayaka, given the novelty of her attacks. Of course, though there are many ways to build Ayaka, some builds leave more of an impression than others.
6 Character Overview
Kamisato Ayaka is a Cryo sword user with a focus on mobility and enabling. Of course, these are both very particular skill sets, so players should be aware of the peculiarities of these playstyles. Mobility will require players to always be moving, constantly with a finger on the sprint button which infuses her sword with Cryo.

Especially on the support build, careful usage of Ayaka’s alternative sprint will be vital to optimizing her Cryo application. That said, her elemental skill and burst can make up for her sprint, both offering easy Cryo application to a crowd. These will also be a heavy focus for a DPS build.
5 DPS Build
Stat-wise, Ayaka makes for a very easy-to-build Cryo DPS character. With easy-to-access Cryo infusion (via her sprint), her attacks can be improved with Cryo damage percentage boosts rather than base attack boosts. This makes for more efficiency when building her offensive stats.
Likewise, players are recommended to avoiding using artifacts with HP and defense; both Cryo damage, elemental mastery, and critical damage/rate artifacts serve to build her damage output. Talent-wise, all of her stats should be built equally, perhaps with more focus on her elemental burst and normal attack than her elemental skill. However, given that her damage is sourced in Cryo, the priority will be more redundant than with other builds.
4 Support Build
While the DPS build makes for the best results for Ayaka, a support build is also possible. Should players already have a good DPS in another element, like Diluc with his easy-to-use talents, then a change in strategy may make a load of difference.

When building for the support class, players are going to want to focus a little less on attack and critical damage artifacts, and a little more on energy recharge. There isn’t a stat to increase the efficiency of Ayaka’s sprint infusion, however, her elemental burst can be used more often by this means. Likewise, when upgrading talents, both Ayaka’s burst and skill should take priority over her normal attack.
3 Artifacts
Surprisingly, building Ayaka’s artifacts doesn’t particularly change between the DPS and the support build. Ayaka has a priority on building her Cryo either way, so the best set for both builds is the Blizzard Strayer set. These can be found in the Peak of Vindagnyr domain, which focuses on using Cryo opponents.
However, should players find it difficult to find good Blizzard Strayer artifacts, the next best artifacts are the Gladiator’s Finale set for the DPS build. The support build can utilize almost any artifact set without inflicting results, however, either the Gladiator’s Finale or Noblesse Oblige sets make for good options. However, the bottom line, energy recharge should be increased to access her elemental burst more often (as well as to act as a battery.)
2 Weapons
Unsurprisingly, Ayaka’s corresponding weapon banner hosts her best weapon for all builds. The Mistsplitter Reforged focuses on increasing critical damage with its base stat and elemental damage with its passive. It goes without saying how this benefits a Cryo DPS and enabler like Ayaka, increasing her damage in the same way as her artifacts.

Alternatively, for the DPS build, The Alley Flash is a good selection to increase elemental mastery and base damage. That said, this is only one option and most swords that increase elemental mastery and damage will make for good results. For the support build, the Sacrificial Sword helps to increase energy recharge, with the added effect of canceling skill cooldown on a 40 to 80% chance.
1 Team Compositions
Depending on which role Ayaka is filling, players can build their team in different ways. In the more common DPS build, players are going to want an enabler of some kind and a healer regardless. As for the final missing spot, there exist a few different options depending on player preference: another Cryo character for resonance-sake, a secondary DPS, an extra support, etc. For example, Xingqiu makes for an interesting option, his Rain Blades making for easy frozen reactions.
On the other hand, the support build brings a completely different issue. Ayaka deals exclusively in active application Cryo, so the DPS for a support-centered team should be easy to switch and use. For example, Diluc makes for an incredible choice, given that his talents can be used in quick succession with Pyro damage. Like always a healer will be necessary. The leftover slot can be used for a character with either an automated skill that applies a different element than the DPS or for a secondary DPS/support.
