RELATED: Genshin Impact: Raiden Shogun’s Ascension And Talent Materials List
The Genshin Impact Electro Archon was released along with the fishing feature, allowing the first-ever fishing-related weapon to be the best F2P option for her. Apart from The Catch, of course, the 5-star Engulfing Lightning is the top choice for Ei. Other than those two, here are some of the best weapons for Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact.
Updated June 20, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: Many versions have passed since the release of Raiden Shogun and Inazuma in Genshin Impact. Soon, players are expecting the new region, Sumeru, along with Dendro characters and its Archon. While it’s currently unknown how well Dendro will fit in the current Genshin Impact meta, one thing is for sure: Raiden Shogun is presently a large part of it. Due to the ever-rising popularity of the Electro Archon, paired with the existence of new weapons and founding, this article has been updated to contain more viable weapons for Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact.
13 Blackcliff Pole
Primary stat : 510 Attack Secondary stat : 55. 1% Critical Damage
The Blackcliff weapon series are all obtainable from the Paimon Shop for 24 Starglitters each. Every two months, players can buy three of each item. As a Critical weapon, the Blackcliff Pole is great for any characters that are meant to deal damage. Of course, that includes Raiden Shogun.
The only downside of this weapon is the method needed to stack its passive. Travelers can gain up to a 36% Attack bonus (Rank 1), but they have to defeat enemies to get the buff. For every enemy, Blackcliff grants a 12% Attack bonus, up to three stacks. So unless the wielder is the one doing the finishing blow, Blackcliff Pole’s passive will end up being useless.
12 Prototype Starglitter
Primary stat : 510 Attack Secondary stat : 45. 9% Energy Recharge
Prototype Starglitter is a Polearm that can be obtained via forging. It has a mediocre base attack and a decent Energy Recharge (ER) sub-stat. Since Raiden Shogun will need ER, this weapon is a viable contender for F2P players. However, note that this weapon’s performance is badly clouded by another F2P Polearm, The Catch. This is especially because Raiden Shogun won’t benefit from Prototype Starglitter’s passive that enhances Normal and Charged Attack damage.
11 Favonius Lance
Primary stat : 565 Attack Secondary stat : 30. 6% Energy Recharge
Favonius Lance has a higher base attack than Prototype Starglitter, and in exchange, has a lower Energy Recharge. Fortunately, Raiden still badly needs attack stat, so the lower ER is not an issue. Like Starglitter, Favonius Lance also performs worse than The Catch in terms of damage. However, this Polearm offers more supportive value. When Raiden Shogun deals Critical hits while on-field, she will produce a small number of Elemental Particles, regenerating Energy for her whole party.
10 Lithic Spear
Primary stat : 565 Attack Secondary stat : 27. 6% Attack
Lithic Spear is a weapon that scales with the number of Liyue characters in the team. For every Liyue unit, the wielder will gain an extra 7% Attack and 3% Critical Rate (up to four stacks). So, ideally, the user of the Lithic Spear has to hail from the Chinese-inspired region as well.
However, while Raiden Shogun will not fully benefit from Lithic Spear’s passive, the National team comp still guarantees her a 14% Attack and 6% Critical Rate addition.
9 Wavebreaker’s Fin
Primary stat : 620 Attack Secondary stat : 13. 8% Attack
Wavebreaker’s Fin currently has the highest base attack compared to the other 4-star Polearms. Its passive is perfect for Raiden; it enhances the wielder’s Elemental Burst damage, scaling with the party’s maximum Energy capacity. Since Raiden Shogun has a demanding 90 Energy requirement, she already bumps Wavebreaker’s Fin bonus to a high level. When the Archon is paired with other Energy-hungry characters like Yae Miko, Xiangling, or Eula, it’ll be trivial to maximize this weapon’s potential.
8 Vortex Vanquisher
Primary stat : 608 Attack Secondary stat : 49. 6% Attack
So far, Vortex Vanquisher is considered a mediocre weapon in Genshin Impact. It’s not because the weapon is bad, though. This Polearm is actually great, but it’s not as universally useful as other Polearms like Staff of Homa or Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. With Raiden Shogun, she can deal great damage using Vortex Vanquisher, but only if she’s protected by a shield. If not, the weapon’s performance badly drops, making it a worse choice than some 4-star alternatives.
7 Deathmatch
Primary stat : 454 Attack Secondary stat : 36. 8% Critical Rate
RELATED: Genshin Impact: How to Get Deathmatch Weapon
Deathmatch is likely the most versatile Polearm in Genshin Impact. Its high Critical Rate sub-stat allows players to easily build their Critical stat, close to that sweet 1:2 ratio. Other than that, this weapon also grants 16% extra Attack (or 24% if there are less than two enemies nearby), so Raiden Shogun will always be boosted. Generally, Deathmatch fits almost every Polearm character in the game. Not surprising as people have to spend 10 USD to get one.
6 The Catch
Primary stat : 510 Attack Secondary stat : 45. 9% Energy Recharge
The Catch is obtainable by fishing in Genshin Impact. As a typical F2P weapon, Travelers can easily refine this Polearm up to maximum refinement. The only catch (pun not intended) is that players can only have one of it. At max rank, The Catch will grant a 32% bonus Burst damage and 12% extra Critical Rate for Elemental Burst.
All in all, this weapon perfectly enhances Raiden Shogun’s sub-DPS potential. Among the 4-star weapons, The Catch is the best option for Raiden Shogun.
5 Calamity Queller
Primary stat : 741 Attack Secondary stat : 16. 5% Attack
Calamity Queller was released along with Shenhe in Genshin Impact. This Polearm is best wielded by a unit that spends most of their day off-field, like Shenhe and Xiangling. Every second after casting Elemental Skill, the wielder will gain a 3.2% Attack bonus. If the wielder is off-field, this buff is doubled.
For Raiden Shogun, Calamity Queller’s passive can easily grow when she’s off-field. However, when she takes field time, the double bonus will disappear. But don’t worry. Even though Raiden Shogun will not be enjoying a 38.4% extra Attack when she enters the field, the Electro Archon will still benefit from the 19.2% addition.
4 Skyward Spine
Primary stat : 674 Attack Secondary stat : 36. 8% Energy Recharge
RELATED: Genshin Impact: Polearm Users, Ranked
Raiden Shogun gained infamy for the fact that some abilities don’t trigger in her Burst form. One of them is Skyward Spine’s damage passive. As Ei’s Burst hits are not considered Normal or Charged Attack hits, the Polearm vacuum blade will not be activated. Despite that, though, Raiden Shogun can still benefit from all other things Skyward Spine offers, namely, 8% extra Crit Rate, 12% extra Normal Attack SPD (Which affect Raiden’s Burst), and, of course, its Energy Recharge sub-stat.
3 Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
Primary stat : 674 Attack Secondary stat : 22. 1% Critical Rate
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear may not be as unconditional as the top two Polearm, but this Xiao’s best-in-slot is still a great choice for Raiden Shogun’s build in Genshin Impact. When her strike hits an enemy, Ei will gain a 3.2% bonus Attack, up to seven stacks. So at max, this will be 22.4% extra stat.
At full-stack, the wielder will also gain an additional 12% damage bonus. As this bonus doesn’t stack off-field, Raiden Shogun has to hit several times before achieving max stack.
2 Staff of Homa
Primary stat : 608 Attack Secondary stat : 66. 2% Critical Damage
RELATED: Genshin Impact: Mistakes Players Make When Using Hu Tao
It’s no surprise that the legendary Staff of Homa continues to be the chart-topper in terms of Polearm weapons. Not only a high Critical Damage sub-stat, but this weapon also enhances the user’s Attack stat based on their max HP. Among the top 15 characters with the highest base HP, Raiden Shogun sits in the list with 12,907 HP at level 90. The Staff of Homa will then enhance her HP by 20%, and increase Ei’s Attack by 0.8% of her maximum HP. In the end, Homa can greatly increase Raiden’s stat at practically no condition.
1 Engulfing Lightning
Primary stat : 608 Attack Secondary stat : 55. 1% Energy Recharge
Unsurprisingly, Engulfing Lighting is the best-in-slot Polearm for Raiden Shogun. As 4-Emblem of Severed Fate is the Archon’s best artifact set, the more ER she has, the more damage bonus she will gain. However, the benefit doesn’t end there. Engulfing Lightning’s passive is fully catered for Raiden Shogun, where she will gain Attack based on 28% of her additional Energy Recharge (exclude the default 100%).
Therefore, at 200% total ER, Raiden will gain 28% extra Attack. This bonus is capped at 80%, so players have to reach 386% Energy Recharge for Ei to maximize this buff (Basically, players won’t hit the maximum value).
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
