To unlock the quest, Genshin Impact players must reach festival rank “Glow Of A Thousand Lanterns” by completing all previous Lantern Rite Tales, and the " Light Upon the Sea" story quest. When the festival rank is reached, players will have access to all five of the final Lantern Rite Tales.

To begin the quest, head to the docks in Liyue Harbor and speak with Brother Qian between 21:00 and 5:00. Like the previous Illumiscreen quests, players must start their treasure hunt by projecting the correct image onto the Illumiscreen with the rotating lanterns.
For part three of the Illumiscreen questline, the player must project the image of a “divine crane” to reveal the treasure locations. To project the correct shape, rotate the center lantern twice, and the lantern on the right once. After the shape of the divine crane has been projected onto the illumiscreen, the player must then interact with the screen for the three treasure locations to track on the player’s in-game map.
The first precious chest location can be found by teleporting to the mountains directly north of Liyue Harbor. At this location, players will find the chest surrounded by totems that must be lit for the chest to unlock.
The first totem can be found directly to the right of the chest on the side of the mountain. The second totem can be found by breaking the rocks directly north of the chest. The third totem can be found tucked away in a crevice west of the chest, and the final totem is found in the field directly south of the chest.
The second precious chest location can be found on a small island in the south of Guyun Stone Forest. To reach the chest’s location, simply fast travel to the Domain of Guyun, and glide down to the island from a high point of elevation.
After reaching the chest’s location, the player must first deal with several Geovishap Hatchlings that inhabit the island. The player will find the chest location next to the Ruin Hunter in the center of the island.
Once the player digs up the precious chest, the Ruin Hunter will activate, and the player must defeat it for the chest to unlock. Additionally, if the player is short on Xiao lanterns, there are several Magical Crystal chunks on the island that will reward the player with Plaustrite Shards.
The final chest can be found west of the Statue of The Seven in the Lingju Pass. From the statue, the player can glide down to the treasure location which is found inside a large stone tower.
Once inside the tower, players will find a Mitachurl and several cooking ingredients scattered on the floor. After the player has defeated the Mitalchurl and claimed the final chest they can return to Brother Qian for their final reward.
After speaking with Brother Qian, players will receive a reward of 30 primogems and will finally have access to the three Luxurious chests by the Illumiscreen.
