While The Moon-Bathed Deep World Quest is significantly longer than most quests players will encounter in the 2.1 update, it is well worth the player’s time to complete. Over the course of the questline, players will unlock 170 Primogems that can be used on the current Baal banner.

To start the quest, head to the Watatsumi Island Statue of the Seven location and interact with the Shrine Maiden named Tsuyuko. After a lengthy conversation, players will unlock four separate world quests that require the player to break a seal at a specific location.
Eye of Watatsumi
The first seal that players must break is found on the island northwest of the Shrine Maidens location. Glide across to the island and interact with the Shrine in the center of the area.
To break the seal, players must use their elemental sight to find the locations of three electro orbs. One orb is found next to the shore to the south, one to the north, and one on top of the large rock formation to the west. After finding the location of the electro orbs, players must use any elemental skill to break them to progress the quest. Once all three orbs are destroyed, players will be able to obtain the first spirit pearl from the shrine.
Fang of Watatsumi
The Fang of Watatsumi challenge is located north of the Statue of the Seven location. After arriving at the location, interact with the tablet next to the sealed shrine.
Unlike the other 3 challenges, the Fang of Watatsumi challenge is entirely combat-based. In the challenge, players must defend a Ley Line monolith for 300 seconds from an onslaught of enemies that will spawn nearby.
To easily complete the challenge, players should make sure they are consistently spawning the Electrogranum nearby. This will charge the purple crystals nearby that will periodically deal massive AOE damage to all enemies nearby. Using Ameno-spec characters is also ideal for this fight. After completing the challenge, obtain the pearl from the shrine and proceed to the next location.
Fin of Watatsumi
The Fin of Watatsumi challenge is found to the far north of the island. At the location, players will find two large circular puzzles with a series of fish statues.
While the puzzle may look confusing at first, it is straightforward. All players need to do is rotate each of the fish statues to point towards the center of the circle. Once all the fish in the circle are pointing in the correct direction, players must interact with the pearl statue to lock in their position before moving on to the next circle.
Players will know that they have completed each puzzle when the center of the circle begins to glow. After both circles have been completed, obtain the spirit pearl from the shrine.
Tail of Watatsumi
The tail of Watatsumi challenge is found on an island southeast of Borou village. After arriving at the location, players will have to defeat several Fatui enemies before interacting with the tablet next to the shrine.
Players must interact with the Electrogranum plant found at the bottom of the path leading up to the shrine to complete the puzzle. After interacting with the plant, players must quickly walk up to each of the 6 Stone Lamps leading to the shrine. When players walk up to the stone lamps, the Electrogranum will shock them, and they will be charged with electricity.
Heart of Watatsumi
After completing the fourth challenge, players must head to Sangonomiya Shrine to speak with Tsuyuko. Once players finish speaking with Tsuyuko, they will now be able to unlock the gate to the Heart of Watatsumi.
Head to the gate nearby, and submit the four pearls obtained from the challenges. Inside the Heart of Watatsumi, players will find a large room with four circular fish puzzles featured in the Fin of Watatsumi Challenge.
Players should note that they will have to fight a series of Hydro Mimics before solving the final circular puzzle to complete the quest. As a result, players should ensure that they have an effective healer or shield user in their party before completing the puzzle. Because the Hydro Mimics are made of water, having a Cryo DPS in the party is also recommended as it will allow players to continuously freeze the enemies around them.
Once players defeat the Hydro Mimics, they will complete the quest and be rewarded with 40 Primogems, and a mysterious item called the “Key of the Moon-bathed Deep.”
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
