The new Genshin Impact world quest “Winding Homeward Way” is pretty simple to complete, as it does not require the player to sail between multiple islands. Instead, players can complete the entire challenge from the Miracious Isle. Players can use the island’s Waypoint Teleporter to begin on the top of the mountain. To the south of the teleporter, past the Wind-Blessed Harpastum Elemental Ring puzzle, there will be a large opening in the ground leading down towards the second set of Harpastum Elemental Rings.

Around the edge of this opening, players will be able to spot a lost Seelie hovering above the grass. As with the previous ones players have encountered during their expeditions, the Seelie will start floating away as soon as the player gets close enough to it. Players can jump, glide, or climb down the nearby ladder to get to the lower platform. There will be hilichurls stationed on these platforms, but there is also an Echoing Conch hidden among them. Once the player reaches the Seelie, it will continue floating down towards the ground. Follow it by gliding down after it.
The Seelie will stop and float in front of a broken arch while waiting for the player to catch up. Investigating it will reveal four elemental symbols hidden among the ruins. These symbols represent the elements of Cryo, Anemo, Pryo, and Hydro. This pattern indicates a certain order in which to solve the puzzle.
Players will then be given the new objective of activating the elemental monuments in this specific order. There are four monuments scattered in the area. The Cryo and Anemo monuments are located on the ground, near the Elemental Rings. The Pyro and Hydro monuments are a bit farther out of reach, both hanging upside down above. Activate the Cryo and Anemo monuments using a corresponding elemental character. For example, to activate the Pyro and Hydro monuments, players may use the Wind-Blessed Harpastum with the Pyro and Hydro Elemental Rings to infuse the balls with either elemental energy. Players can then bounce these Harpastum balls against the Anemo Rings towards the respective monuments.
To aim for the Pryo monument, adjust the Anemo Elemental Ring to Position 2 and throw the Harpastum ball through the Pyro Elemental Ring. To aim for the Hydro monument, adjust the Anemo Elemental Ring to Position 1, and throw the Harpastum ball through the Hydro Elemental Ring. Players can also light up the monuments using a Pyro and Hydro bow user. So far, the only available Pryo and Hydro bow users in Genshin Impact are Amber and Childe. Although, the 1.7 updates may introduce a second Pyro bow user, Yoimiya.
After they’ve activated all the monuments, a vortex opens. Defeat the Anemo Slimes that fell out of the vortex. Then, follow the Seelie through the vortex by climbing up high enough to glide over to it. Players may also attempt to use the Anemo Slimes to propel themselves upwards towards the vortex. This will transport the player back to Mondstadt. Follow the Seelie until it stops outside some breakable rocks. Clear these to reveal Seelie’s post. Wait for it to return to its home to complete “The Winding Homeward Way” quest.
Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Switch version is in development.
