Sangonomiya Kokomi has come a long way since her initial release in Genshin Impact. Thanks to the new artifact Ocean-Hued Clam, Kokomi has recently transformed from an average unit to an amazing one. The Divine Priestess can fill many roles in the team, providing both offense and defense.Players should absolutely pull for Sangonomiya Kokomi if they’re in dire need of a healer. But of course, there are always a few things to consider before pulling for a character. Here’s what people should know before wishing for Kokomi in Genshin Impact.

Is It Worth Pulling For Sangonomiya Kokomi In Genshin Impact?

Sangonomiya Kokomi is a great unit in Genshin Impact. She’s easily a top-tier healer, and she can also act as the sub-DPS in the party. The damage bonus provided by Ocean-Hued Clam allows the Watatsumi Priestess to deal great damage when her Elemental Burst is active. Still, as listed below, there are a few things to consider before pulling for Kokomi.

Sangonomiya Kokomi Is Awkward To Build

Sangonomiya Kokomi doesn’t need Critical stat, as she’s not meant to Crit. This means players can focus on other stats like HP%, Energy Recharge, ATK%, or Elemental Mastery. While this may sound great and “easy,” players likely will get more Crit artifacts over the stats they need when farming for Ocean-Hued Clam.

Furthermore, while Kokomi may not need a Critical artifact, she still requires a Healing Bonus Circlet. By far, this main stat is one of the rarest drops in Genshin Impact. So don’t underestimate how tricky or tedious it will be to farm for Sangonomiya Kokomi. Unless players are incredibly lucky, they may find themselves having a harder time farming for her than other characters.

Sangonomiya Kokomi’s Weapon Is F2P Friendly

Luckily, while her artifacts may be a hassle to get, Kokomi’s weapon is very F2P friendly in Genshin Impact. Other than her premium Catalyst, Everlasting Moonglow, Travelers can easily equip Kokomi with the forgeable weapon, Prototype Amber. Prototype Amber grants HP% sub-stat, as well as a passive that helps regenerate Kokomi’s Energy.

If players prefer Kokomi as a buffer, then the 3-star Genshin Impact weapon Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is the obvious option. This weapon also offers HP% off its sub-stat, so it won’t hinder the Priestess’s healing. Meanwhile, in an Electro-Charged team, Kokomi can use Hakushin Ring (also forgeable) to buff both Electro and Hydro damage.

Sangonomiya Kokomi’s Strengths And Weaknesses

Kokomi has the following strengths and weaknesses that players should take into consideration:

Strengths

Can take on various roles within the party Amazing healing even without her Burst Great Hydro application

Weaknesses

Reliant on Elemental Burst to maximize her DPS Require field time to fully utilize Ocean-Hued Clam Managing Elemental Skill duration needs practice Can’t Crit

Sangonomiya Kokomi Fits In Various Team Comps

As a healer, players can easily slip Sangonomiya Kokomi into any Genshin Impact team composition that requires that role. Afterward, Kokomi can be built according to the players’ needs. The Divine Priestess can be a buffer, support, or sub-DPS. This flexibility allows Kokomi to fit in various team comps.

Sangonomiya Kokomi Has Great Constellations

Sangonomiya Kokomi’s healing is already amazing even at C0, so gaining her Constellations in Genshin Impact mostly upgrades her damage-dealing abilities. Her C1, C4, and C6 increase her DPS while C2 boosts her healing on units under 50% HP. Considering how players likely won’t have a unit under 50% HP with Kokomi, getting her C2 is not recommended. Instead, Travelers should aim for C1, C4, and C6.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
