RELATED: Genshin Impact: Things To Know Before Pulling For Zhongli

Similar to the other elemental ascension gems, Prithiva Topaz comes in four quality levels: Slivers, Fragments, Chunks, and Gemstones. This guide will outline which characters need these gems, as well as where to farm it.

Which Characters Use Prithiva Topaz

If a character has a Geo Vision, they’ll need Prithiva Topaz to ascend (and Zhongli does too). At each ascension level, a certain amount of it is required, with the necessary quality increasing at higher and higher levels.

There are currently only seven Geo characters in the game (minus the Traveler, who uses their own elemental gem). They are the following characters:

Genshin Impact Bosses That Drop Prithiva Topaz

There are several ways to acquire some Prithiva Topaz, but one of the best is to fight bosses and pay the Original Resin cost to collect their rewards. The following bosses are capable of dropping Prithiva Topaz:

Geo Hypostasis Ruin Serpent Golden Wolflord Perpetual Mechanical Array Primo Geovishap*

As with most things, higher level gems can only drop from higher level bosses:

Genshin Impact Weekly Bosses That Drop Prithiva Topaz

Currently, only two of the weekly bosses are also able to drop Prithiva Topaz when defeated:

Andrius (The Wolf of the North Challenge) Boss level 39+: Slivers | level 42+: Fragments | level 63+: Chunks | level 84+ Gemstones Azhdaha (Beneath the Dragon Queller)*

The higher a boss’s domain level, the better the gems they can drop. The exception to this is Andrius, who drops particular gem levels at a different set of levels, listed above.

As for Azhdaha and other weekly bosses, here’s the breakdown:

Other Ways to Get Prithiva Topaz in Genshin Impact

There are a few other ways to get some Topaz, too.

Daily Commissions

Each day, four commissions will be assigned to the player by the Adventurers’ Guild. After completing all four, Katheryne (at any branch) will dole out some bonus rewards.

Among these rewards can be Slivers of a random elemental ascension gem, including Prithiva Topaz.

Crafting

At a crafting bench, three of a gem can be crafted into a higher level gem. This 3:1 ratio can be expensive, but it’s one of the best ways to get the higher-level gems.

Here’s how this works:

Conversion

With the help of a crafting bench and some Dust of Azoth, players can convert other elemental gems into Prithiva Topaz. Dust of Azoth can be purchased for Stardust in Paimon’s Bargains at a rate of 5 Stardust for 10 containers of the Dust. The higher the level of a gem being converted, the higher the Dust cost, as shown here:

Prithiva Topaz can be created from Agnidus Agate, Vayuda Turquoise, Vajrada Amethyst, Varunada Lazurite, Nagadus Emerald, or Shivada Jade.

Parametric Transformer

In the Parametric Transformer, players can use materials to create rarer items, including elemental ascension gems. The Transformer creates “sets” of items, and multiples of the same set can be received. There is a set that includes two Slivers and a set that includes one Fragment.

These particular sets are more likely to be created (but not guaranteed) when using the following items as “fuel” for the Transformer:

Events

During special limited-time events, elemental ascension gems like Prithiva Topaz can sometimes be among the rewards, either in the event shop or as direct earnings from certain criteria. These gems aren’t available in every event, but they are common enough as event rewards to be a somewhat reliable method of grabbing some here and there.
