Among the many specialties that exist in Teyvat, Scarab is so far the most annoying to collect. This isn’t because of the creature itself, but rather of the fact that players have to walk around the maze-like underground of the desert Sumeru. Some Scarabs are available on the surface, thankfully, but not enough if players wish to speed run their collection progress. Therefore, to help people find the locations of Scarab in Genshin Impact easily, this article will show the spots where players can find them.

Scarab Location In Genshin Impact

There are over 70 Scarab locations in Genshin Impact 3.1. Around 40 of them are on the surface level, while the other 30 are underground. The ones marked with Hilichurl Masks are on the ground, while the Star indicates the Scarab is located underground.

The underground area of the desert is quite puzzling as it doesn’t only connect to each other but also consists of multiple layers. Players can access the places after they follow the Golden Slumber and Dual Evidence World Quest in Genshin Impact. Meanwhile, the ones inside The Dune of Carouses requires players to progress through the Soheil’s Wish subquest called Desert’s Remembrance.

Players can unlock the Quests using this method:

Golden Slumber: Speak to a Mondstadt merchant in Aaru Village Dual Evidence: Finish the Golden Slumber Quest and return to Aaru Village the next day Soheil’s Wish: Finish the Dual Evidence Quest

Among them, the two Scarabs in Dar Al-Shifa are easy to get. Simply find an opening near the abandoned hospital (there should be a Dendroculus here if players haven’t taken them), and use Blunt Attack or Plunge Attack to destroy the blockage. This will lead players to an underground area where two Scarabs can be collected.

So far, Scarab is only used for Cyno’s Ascension Material in Genshin Impact. This version 3.1 character is a selfish DPS unit that will dominate most of the battle, and the team has to be catered to his needs.

Many seem to feel like Cyno’s damage is underwhelming, but thanks to the Aggravate Dendro Reaction in Genshin Impact, Cyno is still usable as a damage dealer, although of course, not as powerful as meta units like Hu Tao and Kamisato Ayaka.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
