The closest barrier to Konda village that players will find is the Chinju Forest barrier. To find the start of the barrier quest, Genshin Impact players must head slightly north of the river that runs through Chinju Forest.

At this location, players will find a large shrine defended by a group of hilichurls. Defeat the hilichurls and interact with the shrine to start the “Hayashi of Tanuki in the Forest” sidequest.
In this quest, players are tasked by Ioroi with finding the locations of three Tanuki scattered throughout Chinju Forest. Completing the quest will also award players with a “ward” that is used to unlock the location of the barrier in the region.
To find the first Tanuki, head south from the Ioroi statue down the main path through all the Tori gates. Players will find the first Tanuki dancing along the path. When players get close to the Tanuki, he will teleport away a short distance. Players must continue to follow the Tanuki until he stops teleporting.
At the end of the path, the first Tanuki will transform into a small lantern. Light the lantern with any pyro element character in order to find the first Tanuki.
From the first Tanuki location, head west across the small river. On the opposite side, players will notice a group of hilichurls dancing around a small boulder. Defeat the hilichurls and then break the crate on top of the boulder in order to reveal the second Tanuki’s location.
The third and final Tanuki location is found at the bottom of the Tori gate path that leads to the Ioroi statue.
After interacting with the Tanuki, he will begin to teleport towards the nearby river before transforming into a group of torches next to some small statues. Light all three of the torches to find the third Tanuki.
After finding the final Tanuki, players must now head back to the Ioroi statue. Once at the statue, players must interact with Ioroi one final time in order to receive the location of the Chinju forest barrier, and the ward required to cleanse it.
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
