Comparing this to the previous two updates, which have brought six new faces, it won’t come as a surprise if many players tend to avoid spending their Primogems on the character banners. However, it’s not all doom and gloom, as the official Genshin Impact Twitter account finally announced two brand new characters that will join the playable roster in the upcoming 2.3 update.

Arataki Itto and Gorou Are Confirmed For Update 2.3
Gorou and Itto have been leaked numerous times over the last couple of months, and players are filled with excitement over their introduction. Gorou is a Geo bow user and leader of the Watatsumi Army, while Itto is described as a Geo claymore character and Head of the Arataki Gang. Recent leaks by a credible Genshin Impact leaker by the name Project Celestia have revealed that a couple of interesting names have been included in some existing characters’ voice lines. Those names include the long-awaited Yunjin and Shenhe. Being mentioned by multiple persons in-game is usually one of miHoYo’s signals that a character may be playable fairly soon.
Both Gorou and Itto are expected to join the Genshin Impact character roster on the 2.2 second banner cycle which will arrive around November 25. A recent leak on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has revealed the Elemental Burst animations for Arataki Itto. It should be noted that the video features Itto with maxed-out Constellations. When it comes to his Elemental Burst, it will provide a buff for a couple of seconds, similar to Razor’s or Beidou’s Elemental Burst. The buff will allow his Normal, Charged and Plunged attack to deal Geo damage. Itto’s ascension attribute will be Critical Damage which could make him one of the stronger DPS characters in Genshin Impact. This means that he will gain Critical Damage for each level ascension.
Yunjin May Be The First Dendro Character
Multiple Genshin Impact leaks have revealed the new characters arriving in update 2.4, one of which is Yunjin. A credible leak has recently confirmed that Yunjin will apparently be a brand new four-star character. There are also many rumors claiming that she will be a Dendro character, which means that she would be the first playable character with a Dendro Vision.
A couple of weeks back, a very credible Genshin Impact leaker by the name Ubatcha1 has confirmed that she will be a part of the upcoming version 2.4, which going by miHoYo’s usual update schedule, should arrive around January 5, 2022. There are no credible leaks about her weapon of choice, but another credible leaker by the name of Yoimiya has revealed her in-game model.
Yaoyao and Baizhu Could Arrive With Chasm
The last characters that we can expect in the foreseeable future are for sure be the Dendro Vision holders Baizhu and Yaoyao. Both of these characters are expected to be released alongside Chasm, a brand new Genshin Impact region. This name region is already featured in the in-game map, positioned southwest to the Liyue region. A couple of Reddit leaks were claiming that Chasm could arrive in update 2.4, but considering miHoYo’s pace of releasing new parts of the world, it’s highly unlikely that players will get to explore Chasm anytime soon.
Dainself is another Genshin Impact character that has appeared multiple times in the game by now, and right now there is not much information about this unusual character. Players can encounter him during the Bough Keeper: Dainself world quest, in which they go on a dangerous adventure to track down an Abyss Herald.
Yae Miko, Shenhe, And Scaramouche May Arrive in 2022
A couple of days ago, another leak appeared on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit claiming that a character by the name Shenhe is currently fixed for update 2.4 and, a familiar face, Yae Miko will arrive in 2.5. Yae has probably become one of the fan-favorite characters in the game since her appearances in both 2.0 and 2.1 update previews. A recent leak on Reddit has revealed some additional information about this fan-favourite character. Apparently, she will be one of the strongest DPS characters in Genshin Impact, on par with Ganyu and Eula who currently have the highest DPS potential.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
